Forums - Gaming - For Nintendo fans: If you feel the industry needs fewer shooters, why do you still hate anything that isn't a shooter because it's non-Nintendo?

I haven't played Knack, but it sure looks boring and monotonous. I loved (and still love) the PS1 Crash and Spyro games, so it definitely doesn't need to be Nintendo to be good for me.

But for FPS games, I usually don't buy them because I'm not a massive fan of the genre. The only FPS game I've ever bought solely myself was Killzone 2, and while I didn't finish it, I think it was a fun game.

Yep.

I may be a little unfair when saying this, but from what I've played and seen of Knack, its crap IMO. I'm sorry if that sounds rude.

So, I ask this, why say this, but proceed to bash anything that isn't a shooter? Is it because they're not on a Nintendo console and are thus irrelvant? A prime example would be Knack.

They aren't "bashing" it for being a platformer. Compare with attitudes towards LittleBigPlanet, Rayman Legends, Ratchet & Clank, or Jak and Daxter. They're bashing it for being subpar as far as platformers go, it seems. This need not mean that it's a bad game - only that it is bad relative to popular games in the genre.

knack was underwhelming from the moment I saw gameplay. Besides, I think you are generalizing or just imagining things - I never see Nintendo fans calling Ratchet and Clank, LBP, Jak n daxter, or sly shit

I've seen quite a few saying how bad LBP is and absolutely terrible/garbage compared to Mario.

I've heard a Playstation fan say that Ni no Kuni wasn't a very good game. Why do all Playstation fans think this way?

Also, disliking one thing doesn't preclude you from disliking another. Not saying I agree with with that line of thinking, but the logic you present in the OP is inherently flawed.

fuck me. Colour me surprised then. I aint one of them, let's make that clear

thats quite a generalization...as a Nintendo fan, I believe the industry needs more diversity (that does mean fewer shooters) but that doesn't mean I hate non-Nintendo games. I do feel that Nintendo often makes games that are better than other games in the same genres (like platformers) but "Not a Nintendo Game" is not a con....

Well... the Budget for anything that holds a gun on ps/xbox seems to be a lot more than anything that doesn't... Also the sales for anything that holds a gun also seems to be more than anything that doesn't atm and they also seems to get a lot more prime time...

I did not like Knack, its not cause I am a Nintendo fan, I just think its a horrible game.. But the same goes for ZombiU for the wiiU, when that launched and people were buying it, I not only didn't buy it, but I always said that it was a terrible game and people shouldn't buy it

Its not about whether Knack is a shooter or not, its just a bad, bad, bad game... Just look at the reviews for one... If you like it, thats fine but it doesn't change the fact that its a terrible game to the masses

There are some good shooters from time to time.
But they have just been done to death in the past few years. Im sick of seeing them. They are doing little to nothing new. I have the latest CoD and i feel like it actually declined. There is less content in it than what there was in Mw2. and Mw1
