it sold 35 million total copies on the DS. Without the casual crowd Playstation and Nintendo would have gone bankrupt years ago.

Then I'd rather the industry full of casuals rather than hardcore because they are the ones saving the industry. I'd classify myself as casual too.

I think he means the casual market. Wii Sports / Nintendogs / Brain Age pulled alot of people in and millions of those people proceeded to get Mario kart on Wii and DS. Mario Kart in itself is a huge seller, but Nintendo has proven with the right size install base, they can sell a ridiculous number of copies. MKDS sold 22 million at $30 a pop (Thats 660 million in sales off of one game, that probebly didnt cost Nintendo jack squat to make).

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Very true. Sony's biggest mistake with the Vita and Nintendos with the Wii U was thinking that the hardcore crowd could carry the console.
