At least it is because of specific news and not just random doom and gloom. Its funny, because nintendo had a moment of hope after the npd results werent too bad and then just to be shattered the next day by huge reductions to their projections. Not that anybody who had been paying attention didnt see those reductions coming...

usually you see about 1-2 Nintendoom threads on /v/, but after all this buzz with Iwata and their estimate sales, you had like 5/6 threads running on /v/ at the same time. Needless to say it was a complete flame war.

Nay, the "Sony is doomed" threads of 2007 or whenever cannot possibly be beaten. Those days the front page held more thread titles and everyone was of that topic. For weeks.
