The green Xbox One Bundle.  The Day One editions looked great. However while in the store I couldn't help feel that if I hadn't got the day one edition, I would have not been happy with the box it was shipped in. This would have not stopped me from buying it but maybe to people where perception is everything, I think the box could be a bad selling point. Or to someone not sure which one to get, they may go just by looks. You just don't know.  I think Ps4's shipping box is way better looking and this comes from some one who has sworn to never buy Sony anything ever again. I used to be a big supporter of Sony products years and years back, when I was a young buck. Now that I'm a old fart and had major issues with many of their products and customer service. Where as 15 years back, I had Sony TV's, VCR, DVD player, Walkman, PS1, PS2, Stereo.. I could go on.

However this is not about my falling out with Sony, this is about how damn ugly the green shipping box released after the Xbox One, Day One edition.

This box, Nice, sleek and looks like you want to show it off to all your friends and the world. This is also the box I own, as well as my sister, since I bought her and my brother in law one for Christmas.

The box that I'm just not that impressed by.

Sony's Ps4 box for comparison. Looks to flow a lot better then the box above.

So is it only me or does MS need to change this box?

Agreed, green is a fucking ugly color.

Hate to say it but it reminds me of a booger. I love Xbox but C'mon. I make my own flyers for my production company and I just think some things sell and some don't.

I don't think it's just the green, It's the lack of any other graphic or color that makes you think about graphics, games and enjoyment.

I think they should have made White fad into green. Added some graphics and boom.

Well, I'm more of a Sony person than an MS person but I do prefer the green Xbox box over the PS4 box. The black Xbox box is the best, though.

True it does look pretty empty for a box. That and the color green is totally ugly. I don't think it's hurting it's sales too much though.

I agree that the Black box is better. I think maybe they should bring it back but change it up to not make the day one edition crowd upset.

Well there pretty basic marketing reasons for the colors that were chosen:

the PS blue is direct to Young males.. would it have been pink it would have been for females..

the Xbox green in this case stands for youth and vigor aimed at a larger diverse group of people..

Black like the Day One edition stands for Luxury.. makes it more special and expensive.. great for a Day One edition but since consoles are a mass market product not so good..

Simple, clean products tend to be packaged in white.. thats what Apple and Nintendo aimed for for a while

Ive hated the green since XBox OG, i have no idea why they like it, i guess its there brand now, but yeah its the first thing id change.
