PS4 says hello.

As does wii u...

If you read what I said you will see how this year is irrelevant. When cloud gaming comes in 2-3 years than there will be no reason for home consoles.

After the reaction Microsoft got at E3, which isn't even as bad as cloud, what makes u think people are gonna accept cloud in 2-3 years?

Compare on-live to mircosoft cloud gaming and realize why they were laughed at.

Another Nintendo loyalist expecting great things for Nintendo and doom for everyone else! Pfff moving on...

-Most countries in the world doesn't have the speed connection needed for stream gaming
-People like owning physical games

Stream gaming will replace physical by 2024

ROFl no. Cloud is a long ways away, there will be another console generation. Cloud will be irrelevant this gen, except for minimal tasks like it is being used for now.

First you need the AAA 3rd parties on board. If there's no content no one will do it. Also a lot of gaming's finest properties are exclusive to console manufacturers so I can't really see gamers abandoning the platforms where their favorite games are.

More people but third party games on Sony/mircosoft than there actual games. If they had no third party they would have half the install base. Square is starting to build a cloud system on IPhone market. Just for gaming in specific. Many tommorrow I will post some other companies talking about moving there games on iPhone products.

But they do have 3rd parties and with that they have it all. There won't be a future gaming without Mario, Halo or Naughty Dog.

Tablets might be reaching the graphic fidelity of consoles by the end of this cycle but by that time the new cycle is already far in development and will push the boundaries further still. The gaming market might branch out more but the core gamers will stay at their consoles and PCs and I don't see the core gaming market shrinking anytime soon and it is not shrinking it will stay profitable.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Would you buy a console for third party games if you could play them all on your handheld? The future of cloud gaming will let us play games on high-end systems on low-end phones or other handheld devices.

But iPhone and Handhelds doesn't have buttons/controls.

IOS 7 let's us use controllers today with no problems and systems like 3ds could simply add second stick. The controllers cost like 20 dollars.

But I want to play on my tv or moniter.

You can buy a hdmi cord for many iPhones and iPads today.

Why would I want to have a seperate system to do one thing when I could a system do everything? Cloud gaming could actual make iPhones more powerful than consoles.I feel like consoles are horses of the mailman history. It's outdated and a practice that needs to die for we can truly evolve. Do you disagree?

I agree, it's not a matter of "if", but "when".

However, while cloud gaming can be incredibly convenient, consumers will need to be vigilant. This transition will ultimately blur the distinction between what you paid for, and therefore yours, and what you paid for in the convenience of service. Corporations will, no doubt, be pushing for the latter..

-A lot of countries still have data caps on usage. Streaming these games will be as bad as streaming HD video and use a lot of bandwith.

-A large number of people like to own their games and have physical copies.

-Server go down or shut down your screwed.

-Technology for the games is not quite there for mainstream adoption and latency is still an issue.

Who says they can't co-exist? If anything, it looks to me that it's traditional handhelds that are in the most danger of getting overtaken by phones and tablets. Cellphones have been booming for a while now and somehow landlines still exist.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Nope. Sorry, both handheld and home console will stick around for some time. As if sales haven't proven otherwise, there is always going to be a market for people (millions of people) who prefer to game relaxing and playing on a big screen, as opposed to portable or playing on PC. I would be one of them. I own a DS, have had a Game Boy in the past, and certainly have plenty of PC games over the years. But I always prefer home console gaming.
