Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One vs. PS4 spec difference is "fairly marginal" Microsoft says

Huh. IGN actually COULD tell, lol. They said they barely noticed any difference (pre-patch).

There are more differences like lower/no AA and effects, they're just harder to quantify and use in an objective way. You act as if a 130% more pixels (720p vs. 1080p) requires "marginally" more power.

AA is better because the resolution is higher.

It´s not like one is 2x and the other is 4x (BTW, 4x AA requires 4 times more processing than 2x) and there is a lot of that depends on which AA algorithm they are using.

Effects and other artefacts seems to be exactly the same.

Well, if you have a old ass multplat/multgen engine, limited time and man power... yes, you have many excuses for the problems 3 titles faced.

Yes the difference is marginal at best LOL LOL!

Tell me these things when the games aren't saying otherwise, guys.
Having the ps4 run the same games in higher resolutions consistently calls bullshit on these claims

higher resulution is marginal unless you are looking at each game side by side and from 2 feet away.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No, that is a ridiculous statement. On a 40 inch tv six feet away there difference is quite large, and on and on. Not a shred of truth to your nonsense. Anyone with a decent tv will notice immediately.

LOL yep marginal, not too mention lower frame rates, etc.....

No one would argue a lower end gpu is marginal compared to a higher end one, yet here we are.

Except multiplat developers are contractually obligated to produce near identical games for X1 and PS4.

Politics and polocies >>>>>> on paper specs.

So if theres a resolution or small FPS difference, and the game is otherwise identical, then it is marginal.

No one is contractually obliged to make games identical see assassins creed, BF4, COD.....post proof they are? Your talking indies not major publishers.

repeating lies doesn;t make it so.

Except they wont have two tvs side by side to actually notice. The game is still identical. Soooo

Not knowing a difference exists, doesn;t mean one doesn;t LOL, that's your argument? OK, By that token, I can play games on ps2 in 480p, if I never seen 1080p, no diff right? Not sure what your point is.

Double resolution is a huge difference period. Even 20-30% is a big difference.

Aside from frames per second and resolution....which by the way using launch games to judge a console is pretty silly. Try maybe 2014 multiplats when 3rd parties get the hang of things. The games otherwise looked and played identical.

You seriously are overplaying this, and its kinda funny.

You are seriously downplaying this, it's kind of funny. Where is this contractual agreement you mentioned?  As games get more demanding the better gpui advanateg of the Ps4 will only be more paramount, most launch titles were old gen ports......

There is a bigdiff when going up in resolution, unless you are blind.
