Do you think developers improved because they had to develop for the PS3?

Considering how bad BF4, SimCity, COD: Ghosts before huge patch and etc were as well as how much they whine about making games on the wiiU cause its not x86... No, they have not improved... Not even close... Has Sony's First Party Improved? Probably, Has any third party improved? Hell no... They can barely even reach 1080p 60fps

No.

Devs naturally improve as they gain more experience, but I don't think the PS3 was any special situation compared to all the other puzzles devs solve.

Depends on the developer. 1st party devs, yes. 3rd party devs, not that much. Lumping 1st and thrid party devs together, I'd say yes overall. Especially when compared to PC only devs.

I thought I had read somewhere about devs complaining on making games on blu-ray and how much easier it was on DVD. (These were during the time when people were saying how Sony was shoving blu-ray down people's throats etc..) But if that were true then the PS3 did somewhat help devs for PS4 and Xbone.

no.

I don't know. I didn't pay attention to gaming stuff until 2012.

sure why not, challenge makes you grow.

Any devs that learned how to utilize Cell's SPU's should have a slight advantage. Sony's first party devs have been splitting code across six processors for the last 7 years, so I would imagine PS4's CPU is just another day at work. I would also imagine the devs that refused to learn how to take advantage of the SPU's will struggle for a bit with efficient use of multiple cores.

Other than that I don't think PS3 could have taught devs anything that any other system couldn't.

On a side note. It is funny how so many devs complained about the 6 weaker processors, and how that was not the direction of the industry. Now here we are a whole gen later and, both PS4 and XBO are using weak multiple weak cpu cores.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Thats why consoles are losing the advantages they had previous generations versus pcs
