Forums - Nintendo - How would a Nintendo FPS be like?

I recently thought about what Nintendo can make for a new IP, and what Nintendo can make for a western oriented game, when I thought about the idea of a Nintendo first-person shooter, now I know the general conscious among us Nintendo fans is that FPSs are mostly generic military simulators, but rest assured there are plenty of FPSs that aren't like that (a recent example would be the excellent Bioshock Infinite), and I honestly think Nintendo can pull off making a pretty nice one. the Metroid Prime series and Geist both had interesting takes on the first person adventure genre that I really enjoyed, same thing with Kid Icarus Uprising and third-person shooters, so I'd love to see their take on an actual first person shooter, though what do you think it would be like? A futuristic setting with cyborgs all over the place? Post apocalypse setting and Alien antagonists? Discuss.

I wouldn't mind if they gave a Geist like game another try. The original on the GC had an interesting concept, but it needed more polish.

Honestly Nintendo could release a FPS that is better than cod in every way, but since its from Nintendo most "dude bro" gamers would not take it seriously.  I think Nintendo should stick to what they know and make Metroid Prime 4, not a military FPS.  If your talking about third person on rails games like Kid Icarus then I think Nintendo should just make another Star Fox.

That could be Miyamoto's next IP, he seems to have a lot of interest in the genre considering it was his idea to make Metroid Prime an FPS. He also wanted Ocarina of Time to be in first person. I doubt he'd want to do any sort of military shooter though. Maybe something old school like Serious Sam, but for kids.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I showed Prime 2 multiplayer to some people and they were like WHY DOES THE OTHER ANALOGUE STICK DO NOTHING

I would like a FPS more in the mould of Goldeneye/Perfect Dark with set single player/co-op levels that can be challenged at different difficulties.

As for the theme, I think they should try and keep it simple. A simple spy story would be effective enough, with most of the focus being on tight gameplay and levels that can be overcome a number of different ways. A strong female protagonist with absolutely no focus on her cleavage would be appreciated.

In terms of multiplayer, once again keep it simple. Use Perfect Dark as a template, with a good choice of game types, pick up weapons and no 'rewards' (why should the game be easier for good players? totally puts off new players). Focus on easily accessible online play and user behaviour should be well moderated.

Nintendo could make the best FPS of all time if they really wanted too.

It would be like: me losing all faith in humanity for good. Because Nintendo is better than that.

I would like to see Sim City on WiiU, would be awesome, or a Wing Comander comeback with very deep simulation. Or , anything but a FPS really.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Did GoldenEye and Perfect Dark make you lose all faith in humanity as well?

a Nintendo FPS can exist without Nintendo canceling all of their other franchises.
