I've been having a ridiculous amount of fun with my Wii U lately, and I've been thinking, HOW in the world is thing selling so terribly? It's just too damn fun to translate to such god awful numbers. The more fun I have with it, the more baffling it is to me. Sure, the gamepad is somewhat clunky and less appealing than the intuitive and easy-to-use Wiimote, and Wii U certainly don't quite have those ground breaking, mass market-appealing games like the Wii did, but it still has some really solid games that are hella fun to play. On the one hand, I can see why Wii U isn't having the success the Wii is, but at the same time, I feel this is a console that deserves to at least have the type of numbers N64 recieved, or even Super NES. And the games are only gonna get better..

I think once DKC, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and X (more for the core audience) are released, things will really start to come together for the Wii U, and sales will increase greatly as they should. I think THAT is when you will begin to see more of an N64/SNES type of sales numbers, instead of the very undeserving Dreamcast-like numbers it has gotten thus far.

Not when the future your basing it on is simply the holiday period of a console that has been out for over a year to build momentum. If it had out sold the PS4/Xbone then yes, but it was way off so I don't see why you are getting so excited over a poor christmas boom.

So WiiU out sold PS4/One in software the last 5 weeks.. and that's a poor christmas boom..

What do that say about PSA/One software sales.. do you think that's more poor.. ?

Seeing that the WIiU has been out a year more and has far more for sale, that is as I said, a no brainer. You are trying to directly compare a year old console sales to two brand new ones. Why?

The reason to be excited is because of how poorly the WIi U was doing before.  Based on how the Wii U was performing between April and October, this is pretty much the best we could have expected for the holiday.  Obviously, things would be better if Nintendo had acted sooner, but that's water under the bridge.  Considering the preceeding months, the boost was very significant, and should be a cause for cautious optimism.

I expected a joint effort with JAXA to launch NoJ's old HQ into space, by filling the basement with unsold WiiUs and explosives.

Imagine how disappointed I am.

WIIU is the best NEXT GEN SYSTEM HANDS DOWN!

They are the "new and fresh" systems..  and almost at same level as wii-u (ps4 is under 1 million away.

I would think a very succesfull consol.. whit almost the same install base,, would beat a "doomed" system.. in software sales..

But ok.. you expectet WiiU to sale the most.. (Nice.. true believer) How long do you so think WiiU will outsell Ps4/One in software.. (just so i know when it's good)

But when the WiiU was new and fresh it didn't sell that much so saying that is the cause means you admit to the WiiU having a bad launch and lack of interest.

The WiiU has been out for over a year. It should have far more software for sale. What always limits consoles on launch is the lack of software so for the WiiU to sell less hardware and just beat on software is very poor.

You will find that within at least few months the PS4 and Xbone will rapidly pick up on software sales when;

a) more next gen games come out eg. Watchdogs, Destiny etc

b) cloud services pick up

c) prices come down. The games are meant to cost the same (dev for 8th does not cost more), and seeing such huge price tag is putting many people off.
