People are so enthralled with the game.........honestly, if it had been a film, it would have been direct to dvd. It's okay, but nowhere near the hype.

That's a wierd thing to say, if any game was a movie it would not be as impressive. This game definitely deserves the hype though. I never expected it to be as good as it was even with all the hype surrounding it.

It's not a weird thing to say at all, considering that TLOU, just like the Uncharted games before it, is a game trying to be a movie. A playable, "interactive film". My point was, most of what I hear people talk about in relation to this game, including the friend who had me play it and showed it to me for hours, gushing over it, was "what an incredible story it has". The story didn't grip me as that incredible, sorry to say. And the gameplay, at least to me, was nothing spectacular either. I've played better games that do what TLOU was trying for, and while I wouldn't call it a BAD game by any means, I recognize it's value, I will stand by my opnion that it is terribly overhyped.

It isn't just "game of the year" in some people's eyes, it's been called "Game of Generation" by several outlets, and to me, that's a bit much.

we need another song from this guy

exactly, because the game relies so much on the interactivity for you to experience the intended experience properly.

it's your opinion, I respect that. Not everyone will agree on the same thing.

This is simply wrong.

So now... every game which has an inmersive plot is trying to be a movie?

That special connection between Ellie, Joel and the player is not easy to acomplish, not even for a movie.

The game is a masterpiece, but well... i understand some people may not feel like that.

and damn... such a sour ending.

IGN is a pro Sony website anyway. Not surprising.

It's kinda odd there isn't a single Xbox exclusive nominated if I'm honest here, looks strange when you got indie pc games, ps3 games, ios games, 3ds and Vita stuff.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

IGN-Intelligent Gaming Network.
They absolutely nailed it as usual, The Last of Us was truly the greatest game of the year with GTAV a close second and Bioshock a distant 3rd.
TLOU was not only the greatest game of the year it was potentially the greatest game of the generation.
I get goosebumps just thinking about this masterpiece.

Nah, it's not that odd.  I'm an Xbox 360 lover and I openly admit that M$ didn't offer any compelling exclusives this year.  Even tent pole franchise Gears of War came up way short of the mark.  Can't nominate what we ain't got.

I'm probably alone here but Judgement was fun as hell to me the multiplayer was great and the single player had a relaxed arcade feeling which I enjoyed.
