Yh I can understand why it sucks to pay to go online compulsory especially if it isnt your main system, but if you were to spend £40 on PC and/or wii U, would you get as many games as you would in a year from PS+?

Yes you would on the PC, PC gamers are cheap skates when it comes to game purchases.

A little thing called humble bundle, pay what you wan't walk away with half a dozen games, DRM free and you can keep them forever.
You could get several hundred games for that price in a year.

Then you need to account for the massive library of free PC games you can get on top of the Humble Bundle, high quality titles too.

Another thing to keep in mind with the PS+ is that if it's ever permenantly shut down or you stop paying for it, you loose your library, everything, all of it.
So... In 20 years time if you wanted to pull the console out and do some retro gaming like some people do today with the NES/SNES/N64, you might just be completely out of luck.

What has NES/SNES/N64 got to do with PC gaming?

if youre right about that, shouldnt you be buying physical games on console instead of PC? the authentication and download servers for steam and/or origin or other services may not be around in 20 years...

Anyway, just compare this list to the humle bundle list

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_%28PAL_region%29

plus you forgot to mention that if you want the good humble bundle games you have to pay above the average, and the indie games can be played on basic PC's, you dont need a gaming rig for those.

You can take games from any 12 month period, you wont find cheaper on PC from a similar time frame. You can be the first to prove it because so far no-one has, even though that have claimed it like a fact.

Just an example this month we have DmC and borderlands 2.

average PS+ price for a month = £3.33

cheapest DMC = £8.70 http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/dmc-pc-cd-key?gclid=CLOMjonI9rsCFQPmwgodShoAcQ

Cheapest borderlands 2 is £7.99 on ebay from a low rated seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/281231164777?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95

So thats already going to cost you 16.69.

Let me know if you can be bothered otherwise I will complete the year, and put this myth that PC games still work out cheap than PS+ to rest for good.

The NES/SNES/N64 doesn't have anything to do with PC gaming, perhaps you should try to understand what I am saying within context.

As for the Authentication servers on PC, history has proven time and again, that the modding/cracker/hacker community will right such wrongs, besides the  CD Keys would still work and Steam has an offline mode, consoles are closed off from such modifications.

Now for game prices. You're comparing Borderlands 2 and DMC, so, I can only assume I am allowed to do the same thing?

If you can find Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Ultimate Edition, Mirror's Edge, Medal of Honor for $1, I will eat my hat.
Throw in Sims 3, Battlefield 3, Populous, Red Alert 3  with all of the previous mentioned games for $6, I'll eat two hats.

You can buy half a dozen games every week or two for $1 on Humble Bundle, do that 40 times and you can get roughly 240 games, you don't have to pay extra to get the extra games, remember this discussion was about quantity, that's origionally what you wanted to know so stop moving the goal posts to suit yourself.
You also have the free bundle: http://www.thefreebundle.com/
Have a list of free Steam games: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851573
List of free Origin games: https://www.origin.com/en-au/store/shop/free-ANW.html
List of free uPlay games: http://uplay.ubi.com/en-GB/free-to-play
There are many more free games like League of Legends too. Shall we include mods? Some mods are big enough to be a game in their own right, heck some have turned into actual game franchises.

I do buy all the consoles that come out every gen but last gen I was a huge Nintendo supporter until the last couple of years when I really started playing some PS2, PS3, Xbox and 360 games which really expanded my horizons, but I feel like I missed out quite a lot early gen though.

With current trends the PS4 will probably end up being my main console because of the sheer number of games coming out but I'm not turning a blind eye to my XB1 or my Wii U either.

Went from Gamecube to 360 to PS3 to Wii U. Plus I game on PC. I just follow the games I want. The 3DS is looking tempting too even though I'm not a handheld gamer.

I was on 360 mostly last gen but got a PS3 towards the very end. The PS3 was an amazing console with numerous exclusives (even to this day) and I was left wondering why I didn't get it earlier. In fact I could have gone exclusive PS3 last gen and wouldn't have missed a thing on 360. But nonetheless, I loved PS+ offerings and what Sony has to give with PS4. Thus now I have PS4 and I'll probably remain exclusive PS4 for the rest of this gen. Nothing the Bone or U offers that I particularly want or can't get with PS4.

Have owned something from the big 3, and others over the years. Not one of the corporate sheep. Probably will pick up a PS4, but not least for another year, when there are more games out for it.

youre moving the goal posts, the discussion was that you said PC games are cheaper than PS+ but you cant prove it with a direct comparison, now out of desperation your listing free games which are free because they are not AAA standard.

PS+ offers AAA games and SOME indie games. Humble bundle is mostly indie games and SOME AAA games every now and then. even then when the origin bundle came out, PS+ already had games like crysis 2, BF3 and dead space 2 before it.

Ill admit it, if you only have $6 and are gaming for 1 month, the origin bundle was a better deal in that specific month compared to PS+, but gamers are not gamers for a month. If you cant prove it in the long term then dont even bother.

As for the modding hacker and cracker community im sure they will get past the authentication servers, but at the same time im also sure they will make PS3 emulators.

with mods you might have a point but if I have hundreds of PS+ AAA games waiting that are official games and polished by expert developers, why would I play some unfinished unpolished work made by some guy in his basement?

I'm not moving the goal posts. You asked for quantity for the price of a PS+ subscription, I gave you that and more, you're simply not happy with the answer.

And I laugh at you if you think some of those free games aren't AAA rated.
One of them has more registered players than exists on the entire Playstation or Xbox Live networks (That would be League of Legends).

Remember, your origional argument was about quantity, not quality, thus in comparison the PS+ is incredibly poor value compared to the PC and Mobile devices such as Tablets and Phones.

PS1,2,3 were my only ever home consoles (growing up and stuff), came into the new gen with an open mind, willing to buy both PS4 and next xbox if neither were really bad. Pleasantly surprised what has been done with the PS4 so thats made it easier for me and its nice to see so many friends who went PS2->360 come back to PS4.

I wasn't going to go near a one until they ditched their unnecessary policies, but now even though morals tell me otherwise, I will probably get an Xbox one in the next few months, second hand as I know MS has the cheek to sell an underpowered box at a profit, but I love technology and Romans so X1 and Ryse has been calling me for a while!
