The court system is an interesting thing. Verrryyy interesting.

I ,for one, welcome the patent trolls in some circumstances.

If you have a patent, its because you paid for it and actually put some thinking on it to get a valid patented method.
I can get a patent but for some reason I'm not using it, and I would be pissed off if someone is using my idea and profiting from it.

Good on them! I hate patent trolls!

If Nintendo gone out of bussiness because of patent infringment you would be cursing even if Nintendo were wrong... But them keep accusing Sony of copying everything Nintendo do.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

“Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others.”

Er ...

I know that Patents are supposed to encourage innovation due to reaping eventual rewards, but Patent sitters are the exact opposite. It generally involves blocking companies from using a technology that was already well established.

What does the patent portfolio include?

They were an "exergaming" company that went out of business, so all this probably does is give Nintendo some patents that will keep others from suing them.  That was probably well worth being stiffed over the legal fees.
