Forums - Sales - Bravia + PS3 2007 sales for Australia and the Netherlands

According to Australian newspaper the PS3 install base for Australia is ~185K in 2007 due to Bravia + PS3 combo sales, shouldn't VGChartz include such sales?

Sydney Morning Herald:

"The install base for PS3 in Australia is now 190,000, which includes 30,000 consoles given away with Bravia television sets in a post-Christmas promotion that dramatically lifted sales of Sony's LCD TVs and saw Sony Computer Entertainment scrambling to get sufficient console stocks to satisfy demand."

Smarthouse:

"Sony which grabbed 40% of the LCD TV market in Australia with a free Sony PS3 gaming console offer has jumped from fourth to first place in the US LCD TV market during the fourth quarter of 2007, according to DisplaySearch. "

Note a similar promotion existed for the Netherlands in 2007 as well.

Without this Bravia promotion data included the 360 vs PS3, PS3 sold 155K in ~9-10 months, while the XBox 360 sold 159K (GfK) in 12 months.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

They are still consoles in people's homes, and they probably enticed people into getting the BRAVIA
