With the changed OST and new/strange/different character models do YOU think SE destroyed this project?

I dont really care for the newer look, but then again I seen SE do a lot worse to screw up FF games. This is nothing.

No. I've been waiting for this forever. Changing a little details here and there is not gonna ruin anything. I swear gamers are such a whiny bunch :S

Tidus looks more woman-ly on the HD version. Which actually convinces me even more to purchase the game!

No the game was garbage as a package to begin with, somewhat as expected since it was the product of a company at the time that nearly ran itself bankrupt and had to end up merging with another company. (I'm talking about mechanics etc, the story was fine until the very end but the game play especially near the end of the game was broken as heck) So just putting on a fresh coat of paint and new music wouldn't of ruined it, it would just invoke fear of a paradigm shift in the ones that played it and loved it.

Is this going to be 2014's DMC?

To be fair the OST has been drastically altered. I'm personally not a fan. Why they'd mess with Uematsu's original work is beyond me. They didn't even give it an orchestrated treatment, they're just really poorly done remixes. I'm a pretty lenient guy too, i thought Dissidia's remixes were alright.
