I didn't know that Mario-games only sells cause of the legs they have. Only NSMB and Mario Party DS in that list. SMG 260k just outside.

^^ i guess alot were trying to say that... SMG fastest selling mario game on a home console for what it matters.

And the record was for Super smash bros melee not zelda:OoC, still by some margin!

When FF XIII will be released there will be a userbase of approximately 2.5 to 3 million PS3 users. It needs to sell at 50% attach rate to enter the top15! And in the meantime other titles like DQ IX will crawl in the top 10 making it harder for FF XIII to stay in the top 20. I expect Mario Kart Wii in the top 20 too.

 I always hate to make anybody look silly, especially a newbie, but it HAD to be done.

PS1 age: FFVII launched with sub 5 million install base, and sold way over 2 million, That's close to 50% of install base

 PS2 age: FFX launched with sub 5 million install base. and sold just under 2 million, that's close to 40%

 

Let's just say PS3 will lauch with sub 4 million installbase and sell for 40% of userbase, that's 1.6 million.

 

and no, you don't need 50% of install base to be top 15.

1st of all I'm not a newbie here, just can't access my old account. See my signature.

The FF series have seen a decline in launch week sales numbers after the record FF VIII has set.
The last FF game on a home console, Final Fantasy X-2 just barely made the top 10 with an install base of 20 million.
FF XIII will be huge no matter what, even if FFXIII versus gets released at the same time but I have a feeling it won't sell better than FF X-2.
Oh well we'll see, appointment in prediction league somewhere during 2008 I hope. Because personally I can't wait to play it myself.
