Forums - Gaming - Anyone else think Zelda in 2015 is unacceptable?

I completely agree, and I rant and rave about this quite a lot. People say that they'd rather have a great game than a rushed game, but I'm of the opinion that Nintendo doesn't take so long only because they're perfectionists, but because of bad management. They could make a very great, very polished game in three years if they put their minds to it, but they dick around for so long that it takes them forever to get anything done.

For instance, rebuilding the game from scratch every damn time is ridiculous. They need to give us more games like Majora's Mask. But no, they've always got to revamp the entire visual style and start all over from the beginning. It sounds like that's what they're doing now, and this is the worst time they could have picked to do it.

This would be a huge fail on nintendos part if this happened

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

What are all these games coming from Nintendo in 2014? All they have confirmed for 2014 so far are DKTF, Maro Kart and Hyrule warriors- (have they even confirmed smash bros for 2014 yet? What other games has Nintendo confirmed (not insinuated) for 2014 so far?

I'm sorry but I find some of these threads laughable. What is "unacceptable"? That a game will take as long as it takes to get made? That is precisely what is wrong with the modern internet generation of gamers. The greedy, selfish "what have you done for me within the last few moths" type of attitude.

Gaming companies don't owe us gamers anything. Yes, we pay money for their games so that they continue to exist. And they also provide us with games that we enjoy playing, something most gamers glean great value from. If it wasn't for Nintendo, I might not be a "gamer". If it wasn't for Nintendo, my childhood would have been significantly more boring, even WITH my other avid loves for things like music, and Godzilla, and comic book heroes, and old sci-fi/fantasy movies, etc. The only thing a gaming company "owes" us gamers, is to do the best they can to make their games GOOD. Nintendo has almost always ever lived up to that end of the bargain.

So if I have to wait till 2015 for an amazing, epic, mind-blowing HD Zelda game, I'm fine with that. But I still think there's a very good chance we get it by Dec. 2014. Either way, why in the fuck would any true Zelda fan want it rushed? Let it take as long as it takes, because when it comes out, it'll be good.

I sure am glad people like you aren't in charge at Nintendo then. Otherwise, you'd have them be just another EA or Activision, pumping out yearly installments of Call of Duty or Madden. As a long-time gamer, and a longtime Nintendo/Zelda fan, I proudly reply: "No fucking thanks".

Saying twilight princess is a launch title is misleading.

They could have had a launch zelda for the Wii U if they would have delayed Skyward Sword like they did for Twilight Princess to be a Wii launch title.

No, this is likely gonna be the most visually ambitious Zelda yet if the demo was anything to go by. Big games like this are gonna take longer than before.

they can take how long they want.
just do the best game ever!

It's not black and white, as you seem to think it is.  There's a difference between churning out lazy garbage and just being good with your resources.  I never said anything about yearly installments.  In fact, I specifically said that three years was plenty of time for a great game.  But you decided that a knee-jerk, everything-or-nothing sort of reaction was best for my comment.

It's not about thinking that the companies owe us something.  It's about recognizing bad business practices.  Nintendo's slow release schedule isn't unacceptible because I think I deserve more games.  It's unacceptible for a game-making business to release so few games, and to spend unneccessary amounts of time on each one.

Also, I would agree with you that waiting until 2015 would be fine if it meant getting an amzing, mind-blowing Zelda adventure.  But I waited five years for Skyward Sword and didn't get anything like that, so my guard is up at the moment.

We all want zelda u this year and i think it is possible. As for 2015 being unacceptable it depends, if it is early 2015 then it is just about acceptable but if it is late 2015 then i think that it is pretty dismal to release a new flagship zelda game a full 3 years after the launch of your new console. Very bad planning indeed.
