Call of Duty modern warfare, i remember writing a review slandering it for leaving ww2 and adding perks, making skill take a backseat to mindless play.

In hindsight I admit we had a blast with the killstreaks and different loadout battles

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Probably FF IV (gba). When I first played it, I had a really hard time getting into it, especially coming off the back of III for the DS, which I admittedly hadn't enjoyed that much. After leaving it for about a month and coming back for one last effort, however, I found myself really getting absorbed by all that was happening in the game. Very glad I gave it the chance. It never became my favorite, but it was still a solid RPG.

Hmm

Gonna make d21lewis happy and say Tomb Raider. I thought it looked generic as fuck but it was one of my favourite games pf 2013.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Goldeneye on the N64. Passed it off as just another crappy game based on a movie when it was released. Did that without playing it. My mistake to judge a book by it's cover. Played it at a friends house and had to have it.

But by then hype about it blew up at my school and it was sold out everywhere. Took me awhile to track down, but my friends and I dumped hundreds of hours into multiplayer on that game.

Ah, the memories. Really wish the remake on 360 could have somehow got made. Alas, I miss the old Rare.

Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us & Mass Effect.

When I first tried Red Dead Redemption & Mass Effect I wasn't immediately sucked in so I just assumed they weren't for me. After a few years I tried both games again and now they're two of my favourite games ever.

I was never excited for The Last of Us, mostly because I'm not really a fan of Uncharted and I always thought TLoU would just be a generic re-skinned Uncharted in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested setting... so wrong, it is a truly great interactive experience and easily the best video game ND have ever made, one of my all time favourites.

Sleeping dogs.
Started playing it just for the trophies, then got really interested with the story.
gameplay was fun, but because its easy it gets boring really fast.

Metroid Prime. at first, I thought the game was a fps and simply couldn't accept it was as good as the magazines said. later i discovered it wasn't a fps and played prime 3, followed by prime. loved both, but I had to play prime with the wii remote because no pointer was too much of a step down.

I remember giving up on Shadow of the Collossus because the controls were weird and it was confusing. Fortuneatly I gave it a second chance and now its in my top 10

Same game, different reason.  Played a demo and thought the game was fun, but I couldn't see how fun a game with just boss battles would be.  Bought the ico hd collection and now it is in my top 10 as well.

Probably A Realm Reborn. FF14 1.0 had left a very foul taste in my mouth (one of the few times I've ever bought a game day one). It ran like shit, played like shit, and after a few hours i decided to take up self mutilation as a hobby instead.

A little while after 2.0 (ARR) came out i decided to give it a go after seeing all the praise it was getting. As with most MMO's the first few hours are pretty dull, which didn't help my already strong bias against the game, so i put it down for a little while.

Anyway, long story short I've got about 600 hours logged so far so i'd say it won me over in the end :P
