Did Square Enix underestimated FFX|FFX-2 Sales?

Yes 6 75.00%

No 2 25.00%

Total:8

A quick browse on twitter "vita ff10 lang:ja" and some news sites  and you'll see people expressing their interest on buying the Vita Version but was not able to because it was sold out already in stores.

Also worth nothing that the PS Vita Version only placed 4th in the recent Tsutaya Sales Ranking

  1. Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster – PS3
  2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds -3DS
  3. Pazudora Z – 3DS
  4. Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster – PS Vita
  5. New Dinasty Warriors Gundam PS3
  6. Pokémon X – 3DS
  7. Pokémon Y – 3DS
  8. Super Mario 3D World – Wii U
  9. Drakengard 3 – PS3
  10. Final Fantasy X HD Remaster – PS Vita
  11. Monster Hunter 4 – 3DS
  12. New Dinasty Warriors Gundam – PS Vita
So...do you think Square Enix underestimated Vita Numbers? There seems to be alot of miss oppurtunities in this problem.

Did you see the top 3? Zelda+PDZ+FFX(ps3) all sold most likely 200k+ Also Yes i think they undershipped as well as nintendo undershipped LoZ as i seen Amazon sold out on both!

You should post the sales numbers too so we can see how much they sold... if its under 50k, then no

Wouldn't be the first time demand was underestimated on Vita. Demon Gaze/Monster Monpiece/Dragon's Crown all suffered from first week sellouts (iirc, 95%+) before being restocked.

Though, I feel there's less excuse for FFX than there is for those other 3. The first two were just niche games which got lucky in a drought and the latter was a surprise hit. There's very little surprise about Final Fantasy being popular.

I wonder how this'll affect digital sales. Again, with the other three games, they all benefited from inflated digital numbers thanks to unavailability at retail.
