If you are still sedately making your way through the earlier levels of Super Mario 3D World you might want to skip this thread, POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.

I am of course talking about Champion Road.

I heard alot of early talk suggesting that Mario 3D World was perhaps a little easy.  I agree that the first few worlds were rather easy but there is enough challenge in the latter third of the game to make me feel that I thoroughly got my money's worth.  Not all of the latter levels are hard but there are enough challenging stages to keep you on your toes, even though much of the challenge does come from trying to get all the stars, simply making your way to the goalpost is generally fairly easy.

That is until you make it to the last world.  The mystery challenge stage was hard enough but the final stage was a complete shit.  I don't recall struggling on a stage like this for a very long time.  It's the longest stage by far, there are no powerups and no checkpoints. What's more the challenge has nothing to do with collecting the stars, they are laid out in front of you at safe points in the stage as if to point out to you that EAD could have made the stage even harder if they felt like it. Extreme challenge DLC anyone?

Anyway, I finally finished the stage and I was feeling pretty pleased with myself until I came across this video.  Apparently I'm not very good at this game because I was using Princess and needed powerups....... :p

At first I tried it with Rosalina because she was easier to control, but then I told myself that eventually I'll have to do all of them for their stamp, so it was better to use the other characters. I finished it with Luigi, many tries, with a catsuit backup.

I started with Rosalina as she was who I was using at the time, failed, went back to Mario who I had used throughout most of the game, failed.  Tried princess and started getting somewhere.

I assigned final stamp collection as a problem for another day.  I just wanted to get through the damn stage, one way or another.

Yeah, i had to use Peach and dual cat-suit (you don't really need any particular power up, just a few of them, as that part with the lasers will mess you up bad)

My Miiverse post stated "NEVER AGAIN"

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I needed a lot of tries before completing it with Rosalina. Already cleared the stage with Rosalina and Peach (without power ups both times). Now I'm trying to do it with Mario and Luigi, but I always die at the third star. Never tried it with Toad.

I beat it with all five characters and brought a tanooki suit in my inventory as well as packing one I already had on XD
I guess you could say I suck.

It's insanely hard, but it's fair; people complained about difficulty on 3D Land, so here's what we asked for, I guess.

Hey, at least you have finished it with all 5 characters, not sure I have the time or the patience at the moment.

I still have the Wonderful 101, Deus Ex, Splinter Cell, Rayman Legends (mostly complete), and Assassin's Creed IV to finish.

P-people can do it without power-ups?!

Also, It's pretty easy after beating it once. Just not the dash panel segmant.

That was the part where I entered with  Luigi with backup Catsuit. Made it out  small with nothing.
