im sorry but no. NSMBWiiU has sold a little more than 3 mil. thats with it being bundled and on the market for little more than a year. It is a far more popular franchise than either Smash or Kart. you think MK will do more than a 2d Mario with only 9 months? Explain. 

Your Smash numbers make sense...if one wants to pretend their is no 3DS version, which i gaurantee will take some sales away from the WIi U.

NSMB is far more popular than Mario Kart? MKWii outsold NSMBWii, MK7 outsold NSMB2...

on average yes it is. MKWii is the exception not the norm. 2d marios do better most of the time

what about it? that game has less sales than the Mario bro games for Wii and DS and other older 2d Marios. It looks to be tracking about par with MK for DS which would reinforce that MKWii is the exception not the rule. Unless you think that MK7 will eventually do MKWii numbers.


He means MK7 is doing better than NSMB2


it came out a whole year before NSMB2 n its not that far behind...and it was bundled

According to this site in 2013 NSMB2 has sold 2m and MK7 has sold 1.7m, at this rate it will take many years for NSMBU to outsell MK7

Super Smash Bros. for WiiU (odd name) - 6-7 m
Mario Kart 8 - 8-10 m

Both lifetime and if the WiiU happens to get a 30 million install base

Why so? I see this mentioned a lot but I don't think it will. The games are connected, but not simply identical ports for each console. Mario Kart DS sales certainly didn't hamper Mario Kart Wii sales after all.

Mario Kart DS released 2.5m years earlier than the Wii version while Smash Bros will release around the same time. Also DS and Wii were both extremely popular platforms while 3DS is very popular and Wii U currently isnt.

SSB4 Wii U will make 6 million easily but in 2014 2 million
Mario Kart 8 will make 7 million easily but in 2014 3 million

I think they can both exceed 10 million lifetime if the amount of Wii U's sold exceeds 40 million.

People here saying 8-10M. Reality is the Wii U is at 5 million sold. So are you saying the Wii U is going to sell another 5 million console's before the game comes out ? or is that including 3ds sells. Kind of absurd to have a 100% attachment rate.

I Would say M kart 1.3M-2.8M and Smash 950k-1.8M Wii U only sales not including 3ds.

What are you talking about? The thread is about lifetime sales so unless u believe Wii U will remain at 5m forever then ur numbers make absolutely no sense. Here are the current top 5 selling Wii U titles after one year.

1. New Super Mario Bros U-3.18m

2. Nintendo Land-2.71m

3. Super Mario 3D World-1.31m

4. New Super Luigi U-0.97m

5. Wii Party U-0.76m
