Forums - Gaming - What's your favorite platformer?

Well their are two games that I loved as a kid and that almost no one ever played.

It is hard to find someone who played those two games.

Well the first one is Puggsy.

It is a Puzzling kind of platformer about a alien kind of creature who's ship got stolen and he had to retrieve it back.

Let me show you some footage of it:

The second one is a little more popular still it is a game that many many gamers missed.

Riistar.

Again a Genesis game...This time you play as a little star who have to save the Universum.

This game is brilliant... Some Sonic fans at that time even said it is better than Sonic.

Well again some footage of it:

I am almost begging put please try this games out....You don't know what you miss. Just look to the comments of the GT video of Riistar...People really loved it.

And IMO those both games should have been franchises...

Bump...

PS:  It is illegal but you should play Puggsy and Riistar on Emulators (or you can download the one from VC).

Kabuki Quantum Fighter.

bionic commando was fun when i was a little kid but not shure if that counts
Jak and daxter after that

Favorite Platformer would be Megaman 3. MM2 is close but i think i liked 3 a bit more.

Obscure would definately be Totally Rad. Another NES game that was kind of a crappy version of Megaman with the difference being you started with all your powers and it was 100 times harder.

Mario.

As for obscure, it's kind of cheating to supplement vague memories with an article I read much more recently but I recall playing Ducktales on the NES and the article couldn't shut up about how great it was. Maybe that's why I remember playing it even though I only had it for a short time.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Commander Keen.  Particularly Commander Keen 4.

@Rocketpig

My favorite platforming series is Mario, of course.

As for your real question: my favorite obscure platformer series is easily the Megaman Zero series. I don't know if that's counts or not, though.

Super Mario Bros 3 obviously, in the not so obvious camp I'd say Bonk's Adventure.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

question #1 Mario
question #2 Earthworm Jim, or Taz for the Genesis, it was SO HARD!
