I am looking to buy the game for my little cousin, he is 7 years old. I fear maybe the game is a bit difficult, very light in content or lacks polish in the graphics area. Money is not a problem, it's my only cousin and I wished to spend 200€ for him. I find a deal at 130€ for the starter pack + all the other figures.

At first I was going to buy him Skylanders, but I never really liked the license that much. The figures are quite ugly, it's a whole new universe and the artistic direction seem a bit off to me for something aimed at children. Skylanders seems like marketing does the work more than the game's quality or appeal.

I have seen some gameplay of Disney infinity on youtube and the game looks much more promising. I read a lot of "pro" reviews about it, they say the game is ok/good but I learned to take them with a loads of grain of salt. The figures look great (while being quite expensive), the concept behind it is very children friendly. But I don't know, the game is out for and it did not seems to sell that well. Maybe their is a reason behind it. 

So any advice/opinion/warning ?

No, the game is not difficult, it's actually a lot of fun. I am enjoying it so far. There is a lot you can do in the game especially if you have a bunch of the figurines which are needed to unlock toy box themes and worlds based on that character. Monsters inc is a good one, my gf loves that one.

It's also a creative/building game. The more stages/missions you do with characters the more stuff you unlock for building in toy box mode. Toy box user created maps can be shared online with other players also. I got the game on Wii U and so far it is much better than expected.

The missions aren't really difficult, and most are fun to do. The only drawback to this game is having to buy the figurines to unlock themes and playsets. They can get pricey but if you find them on sale like I did you should be alright.
