The side quests are annoying as hell. The rest of the game at its core is good.

Really?  I've quite enjoyed the crime scene investigation segments.

I liked all of the sidequests except for the ones where you had to find the drug stashes or the weapons stashes.  Those were just busy work.  Riddler's data packages and whatever the other thing was weren't very exciting to look for, either.  Very simplified compared to the other games.

is the wii u version worth getting im thinking of trading the x360 version in and getting wii u version instead.

yeah I agree Riddler ones aren't great this time (though the towers were very fun to figure out), but I like all the crime scenes so far.  I did like that you didn't have to do SOOOOOO many interrogations this time to find the Riddler stuff.  AC had way too much finding guys to punch to find more riddles.

If we were talking about Arkham City, I'd say HELL YEAH!  The Wii U has the best version of that game.  Arkham Origins, I say keep what you have.  They didn't try very hard on the Wii U version, it seems.

They were pretty cool, I guess. I am really talking about the redundant riddler quests, Drug stash, finding the anarchy symbol questions, and Stopping the penguins jammers from allowing you to fly or have your tech interrupted. In the end that was like 50% of the actual game when you think about all the pointless running around that you had to do.

Yeah but AC had a TON of riddler trophies (too many I think).  Asylum got the riddler parts right the most I think.  A lot of it was just an excuse to punch more stuff but oh well they are optional.

Hehe, I bought Arkham Origins Blackgate (yes) for 3DS today, not expecting very much, but I was pleasantly surprised by it! I'm sure the console game is better, but I really like Blackgate. I actually like the setting too, places reminds me of MGS1 at times (sneaking through vents and the general colors), so this was a nice surprise! I could have gotten it for Vita for a little more money and get higher resolution but I prefer to play 3DS XL since it's much more comfortable to play.

But yeah, I really like Blackgate! Never thought I'd do after the reviews were out :o

Yep.

Some chick on my job sold it to me for $20.  She just got a 3DS and has been going game buying crazy.  Hell, she even got some Spanish translating game for the DS.  Anyway, she's the one that let me play DKR for the first time (I immediately bought it myself!) and sold mer her copy.  I haven't seen any reviews and I don't plan to until I'm done beating the game.  I'm with you.  It's pretty impressive.  And, like you, if I'd known better I'd probably have gotten the Vita version.  Game looks great and the 3D is good, though.

Good to hear! It also reminds me a LOT of Metroid Prime. Like scanning doors and then it says this can be opened with an explosive blast... but then again it's developed by Armature, veterans from Retro Studios. It's even the same director as Prime, Mark Pacini. Even though the whole game takes place in prison environments I find it varied enough, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Edit: The only difference between 3DS and Vita versions is that the Vita has higher resolution and some higher textures. The shaders/general look of the game is identical. And the loading times on 3DS are shorter too. Look up comparison videos on Youtube, I'm on my vita so can't post links. They look pretty much the same, and both are gorgeous.

Yep.
