Seriously though, i kno some people do joke about it but god damn. These two words are so overused its really getting annoying now!

Its like if a game isnt wat you think it'll sell or isnt close to a prequel in sales its a FLOP. Games like SM3DW or GT6 are considered BOMBA now cuz they dont have high enough sales?

What happened to Underperformed or just not wat was expected? Just below expectations are FLOPS/BOMBA Now -_-

Its like a Test. Before you get a 90-100 is an A. 80-89 is a B and so forth. Forget it now, its like a Fail Grade if you get below a 90 o.O

Am I the only one thinking this? There were definitely some Bomba/flops this year [EX: W101] but in all honesty... I think the gaming community is kinda retarded (lmao) with expectations and there only use of words!!!

YOU are overrated

Yeah, mediocre performance is constantly being classed as BOMBA these days. There's also far too much direct comparison going on between titles and systems and the goalposts don't even stay still in a single thread.

I try to not pay attention to all that. It doesn't matter if a game bombed or not, I will still enjoy it if it's a good game.

As a Wii U owner since day one, the crap doesn't stop falling from the skies with all the people that dislike and mock the console.

Absolutely.  The order seems to be great-> good -> FLOP, which is ridiculous.  I'm a bit sick of hearing those words used simply because they fit within a person's agenda of wanting a particular game to crash and burn, especially when they substitute realistic expectations with their own inflated expectations or goal-posts based on different circumstances.

I think they have their place, for some games just saying Bomba somes it up perfectly

However I think the only problem with it is is can imply some sort of enjoyment that a game has sold below expectations which isn't clever and if you're not careful you end up sparking arguments if it's a game with either a dig fanbase or which is important to the future of a console (Mario 3D World being a case in point)

That's why I only use it on easy targets, because otherwise if it goes wrong the aggrovation isn't worth it

I see it alot, we usually don't know how much the publisher was projecting it would sell and without that how can we truly say its a flop?

Out of all major games released this year, i must of heard 50% of them were flops. The most recent GT6 is a perfect example of this. It might be the lowest GT in terms of sales but people read into to much. Since it was about 1/3 sales of GT5 FW it is a bomb. But in reality Sony will make money cuz it'll sell no less than 2.5mil lifetime (my guess is 7-8mil) and that gives them a profit.

I understand certain games deserve to be called flops. Imo flops are W101 (even though its stabilizing a little which is ok) That capcom game, wat was it called? Planet something lol???  Games that were called flops but clearly arent (maybe underperformed sure) are LoZ WWHD, GT6, Rayman Legends, etc!

Bomb/Flop is in every sales week thread nowadays -_-
