Moderately enjoying my WiiU though my PC is gets most of my gaming time.
Not at all. Actually the Xbox One has saved me from gaming hernia. I was getting bored and stale with gaming. Since getting my Xbox One, I have played a lot of gaming. Namely Ryse 815 Gamerscore out of 1000, Fifa 14 220 Gamerscore, and Peggle 2 750 Gamerscore.
Plenty of games Im yet to dig into that I cant wait to play.
Very happy. Best launch behind N64.
I'm enjoying my PS4 and 3DS.
I have to juggle my systems alot, atm I'm playing one game on every system I own lol Sly 4 on the ps3, Killzone on the PS4 Pokemon Y on the 3DS and Tearaway on the Vita.
I also have Tales of Xillia to finish aswell as Kingdom hearts HD PLUS!!! all the ps+ games that pop up so quickly I can't keep up with them anymore -.-

Last edited by Oliver4p1 - on 10 January 2026Purchased about 10 games in all, so I don't know how people can be bored unless they only play one or two games a year.
I've put in about 20+ hours so far into AC4 and at least 10+ into FIFA.

You and me both. Dead rising 3 was a bit refreshing, but Rise sucked and now all I have for X1 is COD Ghosts, and Im just about burned out on that series.
No real reason for me to buy PS4 yet, as KZ is yet another shooter. So what did I do? Bought a Wii U. Mario 2d has been great fun so far. Looking forward to wind waker, mario 3D, pikmin, etc. Stuff I have not played in a while.
I think a lot of what people are experiencing is shooter fatigue.

I sort of wanted to write it off as being a part of "gamer fatigue" which tends to hit late in any hardware generation, but it probably has more to do with the lack of desire to spend hours playing games every week much less every day. I seriously think all the games I picked up over the holidays on sales, whether on Steam, the PS3, on PSN, for the PS4, the PS Vita, etc. etc. will keep me busy through the better part of 2014. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee I won't go deep into many of the games I picked up this month, extending my back catalog of unplayed games even further. As far as the PS4 goes, I have had next to no desire to play more Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed 4, Killzone Shadow Fall after barely dipping into each of those. I do however find myself still quite addicted to Resogun. The pick up and play arcade style makes it really easy to just play for a little bit (less than a half hour) when I get the urge to pick up a controller. I still want to play Infamous Second Son and will probably have quite a lot of fun with that one given that I actually played all the way through the first two, but I don't think I'm going to pre-order and may end up buying it later if it goes on sale. Other than that, there's MGS 5 in the spring. I'm thinking I may end up becoming the typical console owner who only buys a handful of titles each year. |
I am starting to think a lot of this has to do with age. As I get older, I want to play the game through but not spend hours and hours diving into each one to a T. Just hav emore responsibilities and better things to do sometimes.

WiiU for sure, not so sure about the other two though, not yet atleast |
Even as someone who is going to buy a PS4 in a few months, its 2014 line-up is well and truly "meh".
Probably too late to start announcing games now, will just have to hope for earlier release dates than expected.

Yeah, I'm with you. I'm planning on buying a PS4 (or an Xbox One--the possiblity still exists) and the only games I want on either are games I'll be able to buy anyway--a re-releas of this year's Tomb Raider or Metal Gear Solid V. Not exactly worth paying $400-$500+ for. Watch Dogs, maybe? I've kinda hyped myself for the Wii U version, tbh. Everything else just doesn't do it for me.
My problem is a lack of willpower. Luckily, I just found out that I'll be on a month long business trip starting January 6th. Maybe that will stop me from spending money I don't really need to spend.
