How long are you using it? Yah. D pad is a major defect in it.

Since 2010. I use it mainly with Steam and some SNES/NES emulators. Works fine for me.

Good for you. I am searching amazon and just saw this. I might get this one.

All PS3 controllers are both wired and wireless. When you plug them in using mini usb to charge, it also stops using blutooth. Don't know about number 2.

I have a dualshock 3 (from my old ps3 slim) that doesnt work because battery is out. It doesnt charge and just lights blimps if I press home button. If dualshock 3's worked as wired while connected via usb then it might have worked.

It still needs a battery in it lol!

Thats why I am looking for a "wired" one. :-p :-p

Been using 360 wireless controller since 2008. No fuss it's plug n' play. And I use AA rechargeable batteries for the controller.

I've had this controller for a couple of years-- http://www.walmart.com/ip/POWER-A-PS3-ProEX-Wired-Controller-Black-PS3-Playstation-3/14962336

It doesn't have motion control but if feels pretty good.  Better than the real PS3 controller for me-especially the triggers.  It's cheap, too.  I have a wired version but I think there's a wireless, too.  It was recommended to me by someone on this site.

$80? At that price, you're better off buying another PS3 controller. Much better off imo. 3rd party controllers tend to suck heavily.

So you are getting bleeping lights when you press the home button right? Try resetting it. Then plug it back to the ps3 and turn the ps3 on using the ps3's on button (not the controller).

Buy a DS3 and use it on PC as well. 2 problems solved in one sweep (swipe?)

I want to avoid DS3 as much as I can. I used nyko raven for a long time. L2 / R2 were awesome. Grip was also great. So I need something like that.

I don't get why you wouldn't just get a new PS3 controller. Or perhaps a Ps4 controller would work.

I want to avoid DS3. Been avoiding it for a long time. Will do the same.

You won't have sixaxis motion, but I would just grab a wired 360 controller for the PC and then buy this adapter http://dx.com/p/xbox-360-controller-adapter-for-ps3-100cm-cable-51556

That would allow you to also use the 360 controller on your PS3.

If you want something with sixaxis though you could get this. It's on sale right now for only $19, down from $50.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Neat idea. Xbox 360 controller is still best for pc gaming. Thanks.
