Before launch there were a lot of people saying or hoping Nintendo was gonna be second place.

They were silenced shortly after the X1 launch.

Then this thread should've been made before launch because as it stands no one is making these predictions now.

(Unless there have been recent predictions like that).

So basically you're expecting the Xbox One to put up 3DS-like numbers? Not gonna happen. I think it'll sell pretty well but that's unrealistic.

Wii U will do around 5 million

There`s no way XB1 will sell that much when 2014 is over.
Having great titles or 3rd party support won`t make it reach those numbers with a 499$ price tag, PS4`s popularity and, who knows, Wii U`s rise (steady release of exclusives). Not to forget it is yet to release in several European countries and Japan.

Not saying it will do Wii U numbers, but i wouldn`t be surprise it sells about the same as Wii U next year.

Bundles are garanteed but a price cut? 50-100$?

To really be effective it would need to come down to 400$.
But even then, it would only match the PS4 - supposing Sony doesn`t cut the price. And in terms of popularity, so far, PS4 is the most popular of all consoles.

Don`t forget that sharing a big number of titles with XB360 and staying in that price range for a long time will cut into its sales.

PS2 sold the way it sold but it started at 299$ and had a (mass) appeal no console has now.

Moreso right after the XBO was revealed, back when everyone hated it, I think. After the policy shift people were forced to rethink their predictions.

naw even after that there were still some people saying it would come in last because of the price.

X1 will do much better in 2014 than Wii U in 2013, but the 2014 numbers of both consoles could be pretty close.

Wii U will have better exclusives and X1 doesn't have X360's advantage of superior multiplats.

PS4 will dominate and beat Wii U's lifetime sales everywhere outside Japan in a few months.
X1 will struggle to beat Wii U's lifetime sales outside the USA and UK.

OT: I think I agree with the majority in which they say it'll sell better than Wii U but nothing phenomenal or even impressive in the slightest.
