So if you've ever played Bioshock or any heavily story dirven XBox 360 game you'll notice that they have secret achievements. These are usually achievements for beating a certain boss or finding out some secret that the developers want to reward you for but don't want to give anything away. When you get this achievement, you get to see the name and title of it and then you get the points. When your friends look at your achievements they see that you got one of the secret achievements but they can't actually see what it was for until they get that achievement.
Everything is good so far.
So I was thinking about secret achievements earlier and then started thinking about Home trophies. How is Home going to handle secret achievements? Are they going to show some generic trophy? Would that look silly if that secret achievement was actually a huge trophy and you actually had a large amount of space set aside but everyone else saw a small trophy in a large space?
We know that Home will have to have secret achievements like the 360 because there will be multiplatform games. We also know that the PS3 has some heavily story dirven games that they will want to keep things secret until the player actually gets to that point in the game.
What would FFXIII be like if they told you all the trophies? Wow, you get a trophy for beating the guy you thought was just a peon at the beginning of the game!? Wait, you just told me the main villain and how I beat him... ;_;
Remember, if they don't tell you how to get the achievements or trophies or that there are some number of secret ones available, they really don't serve much of a purpose.
So yeah, how do you think Home will handle secret achievements or trophies?
