Oh come on, you're not really putting QD games and Ryse in the same category.

Why? I dont understand the difference. If your expecting an out and out hack nslash game, thas not what I understand Ryse to be. IMO its clearly a cinematic experience. To show Brutal Rome. The slow motion combat executions are evident of that, as are the numerous cutscenes throughout the game.

Heavy Rain is a game in which every single decision you make changes the games as a whole, it's not a game about combat but about the individual experience every player has with the game. Beyond is to a lesser degree the same, though I'd really just call this game an interactive movie, since all the decisions that affect the game are only made towards the end. Ryse is cinematic, yes but that doesn't put it in the same category as those games, having executions (GOW has those as well) and cutscenes (like literally every game nowadays) is not enough to do that.

Thats fine, it doesnt matter about choice. The end result is the same. Its got mechanics passable enough to tell a story in gorgeous detail. Thats what Ryse is. It tells a gruesome story of Rome. Of which slicing people up was a big part of the era. As an interactive roman tale it works for me. Its not by any streatch a hack n slash game.
GOW Executions are not even remotely in the same league. They arent the point of the combat. They arent the point of the game. Ryse combat revolves around being brutal, it revolves around guiding you through. Your being told an interactive movie. Of which I enjoyed. Now for a gamey game their are other titles out there I can buy and play.
