No
but the new MGS will use it too... I just expect there are options to disable this feature.

Most likely. I guess that's why I've slowly withdrawn myself from video games. I did indeed play the game. If anyone doubts me that is their own fault. Nothing about the game screamed "different". It was just another bland game that besides alright visuals didn't do anything else different. To be fair the story and cut scenes were the best part. It should be embarrassing to Sony and Naughty Dog that their fanbase cannot accept the fact everyone has their own opinion. I didn't like the game personally. Does it bother me someone else does? Not really. I'm sure to them it was a great game and worth every bit of time spent enjoying it. I wouldn't have it any other way. I can always go play a game I enjoy rather than bash them for disliking or liking something. |
Go/Stay on PC, and get a Wii U/3DS. Problem solved.

Really? I know that if I were making a thread about graphics and animation I'd pick something other than quick time events and cutscenes. Lets be honest here, this thread is more about justifying the purchase of a bad game. Which makes my statement plenty relative.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

On top of that he uses QTEs and cutscenes...Probably because they gameplay is...less flattering.

You missed what I was implying. I specifically called out the guy and stated I don't give a shit about his opinion :) Say what you want to say about metacritic, but atleast reviews (MOST) of the time, actually go in-depth on a game and it is easy to agree/disagree with an opinion there rather than throwing out some bullshit like "TLOU plays like a movie and there is barely no gameplay".
Gee you'd think these people accidentally played TWD/Heavy Rain/Beyond or something.

The combat animations? Every combat game do it better... a lot better... when you parry the shield didn't even touch the enemies and they get back after some delay... if it is not off... I don't know what is. |
Every combat game? Give me a title for reference, post a video, a gif anything... back it up, what game doesn't have some collision bugs during combats? And how does a collision bug mean the animation is bad? Especialy when it was motion captures? Show me a clip where the animation is shameful (hey it's your own word), give me a title we'll analyse that title you're talking about.

I have doubts they used motion capture for the combat moves... just look at the videos posted... it was so off.
Did you want a good example of combat animations? GoW III, DMC, Ninja Gaiden 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, etc.. all these have better animations in combat than Ryse.

Why do you have to give such elaborated answers? Can't you see I'm screwing with you? :( You leave me no room for a reply.

I think you're right they didn't used motion capture for the combat animations I just looked at their combat vidoc and never they said the combat animations were motion captured. That being said... I watched again a lot of gameplay videos and sometimes the character kind of slide to an enemy like there is a "lock to enemy" type of thing and yes there are some collision bugs here and there but for the most part it's well animated way more than the games you mentioned.
DMC, GoW and Ninja Gaiden to some extent try to put so many moves in a short time that you don't have time to see what's going on. GoW and DMC cut into frames so the character does their movements faster. Both games also put the character in weird positions and both have the same "lock to enemy" type thing. GoW also has the camera set real far and static making it more difficult to see I'm not even sure you took the time to see your references. For all the love I have for Bayonetta I'm sorry but the animation execution is everything but realistic but hey the game and character wasn't meant to be realistic at all. Those games weren't meant to be realistic, they did great but to say Ryse is "shameful" compared to those, maybe you don't know what shameful means but compared to those games it's far from it. Even the QTE from GoW are not all that well animated.

Too bad Ryse is not a game I would EVER enjoy.
