Forums - Nintendo - Wii U 3rd parties are already doing better than the Wii's 3rd party games! One year's time

It's because the vast majority of Wii U owners are the core multigenerational fans of Nintendo consoles. On Wii those fans got lost in the casual noise. If you actually think about the demographics of the owners of Wii vs Wii U it's not at all surprising that 3rd party "mature" games will sell relatively better on Wii U compared to Wii.

However there's also the sad fact that Wii U's highest selling 3rd party game has sold less than 600K. Whereas PS4 already has a 3rd party game at >1 million and it has a total of 4 3rd party games over 600K. With less than a month on market. Xb one has 2 3rd party games over 600K.

When you get around to being able to compare 3rd party performance by the time Xb one and PS4 each get to 4.5 million in sales the Wii U's 3rd party performance at the same level of sales is going to be embarrassing.

In reality there's actually nothing particularly positive about 3rd party game sales on Wii U.And 3rd parties are already looking at PS4bone game sales and seeing that their bread is going to be buttered on the PS4bone side this gen.

but while the 3rd party games from wii grow in sales year after year, the wii U ones are declining...
JD2014, AC4, CoD:Ghosts, Scriblenaults, Batman, Skylanders, are all selling less than previous year versions...
And we have to consider that we have the double of install base.

No seece. Because the big wii third party games were casual games.

I am talking about mature/ core games. Plus the wiiu has sold horrible and only been out a year.

Did you even look at the examples I posted? They're no more casual than what you've posted.

Cherry picking at its finest.

Please don't put batman in that list. The game is pure garbage compared to last years.

The rest are good and valid examples.

I don't know if it means anything, but I've already purchased more 3rd party games for the U than I did for the Wii.

Maybe with Zorg's permission you should put this in the OP to provide a fair and well researched comparison between the performance of third party 'mature' games on Wii and Wii U.

Unless this is a joke thread, in which case well played.

Umm if you count like five random non-casual games on the Wii from 2006, 2010 and other years far into Wii's life, and then you list a whole lot of Wii U games like Just Dance 4 and Your Shape Fitness Evolved it's difficult to even think about comparing them.

I mean that really is cherrypicking. You said your focus was on hardcore titles, and pick some random low selling Wii ports, while the Wii U is allowed to pick fitness games and Just Dance?

Yep.

the OP literally cherry picked some Wii games, and when Seece called him out on it, some nonsense about oh those only core mature games which their is alot that are missing. And how about do an actual first year sales? Even if the list was accurate which its not that shows me that 3rd parties have to make way more games for Wii U just to match the sales of 3rd party on WIi.
