Maybe theyre not buying them because theyre not selling?
In the UK, asda (owned by walmart) stopped doing wii U altogether instores because they were not selling enough.

I did for awhlie. Then I realized, this is Nintendo.. They are impossible to figure out. |
I wonder why it doesn't expand its resources to do both. I've said it a thousand times now, but Nintendo could be like Disney and be so large of a company that it can have one image and appeal to one demographic and different image and appeal to another demographic. Nintendo got it right with the original DS, and Microsoft got it right with the 360 + Kinect.
Doing this now would spread resources too thin between two different consoles and two different markets on those two consoles, but as we've seen lately, Nintendo has been bringing in some extra help (Tecmo, Atlus, Namco, Platinum). I'd like to see it actually acquire more studios to cover more bases though.

Walmart.com is still selling Wii Us. If it wasn't, then you wouldn't even be able to find a listing of the different SKUs; they would be completely removed.

im not exactly sure how american companies work, but in the uk, stores and online are not always the same. Asda here is doing wii U online but no sign of it instores. Its not sold out, they just dont stock it instore anymore.

Works like that here too. But since it's Walmart.com, it has no bearing on brick and mortar stores. Anything sold online comes from some warehouse where they'd have space to keep a bunch more than any store.

Amazon doesn't sell Wii Us or any Nintendo product for that matter. All listings for Nintendo products are third party vendors charging more than retail. Nintendo really needs to fix their relationship with Amazon. They are only the largest retailer PERIOD.
