Because they both suck, especially Lanky. Tiny Kong isn't coming back either, but nobody needs her when we have Dixie.

And Lanky is freaking awesome!!! You are dead to me now!! 

DK64 was a beautiful looking game and it had its moments but having to find bananas with every single Kong was just exhausting.  Being able to play the arcade-perfect Donkey Kong game inside was brilliant, though.

@OP. This game looks better and better with every new news article. Great visuals, great music, improved input, new 2D/3D perspective, all the good stuff about this game is stacking up.

Haha, yeah he did.

I think a lot of it was the tedious banana finding that really turned me off to the other Kongs in the game.  Plus, Banjo just nailed the control and level design while DK64 felt a bit sloppy by comparison IMO.

I loved it as a kid, but after playing the game again a couple of years ago I realize it wasn't as good as I remember. Still like the game, but back when I was a kid it was like one of my favorite N64 games.

Because they are horrible, annoying character designs. Same goes for *gag* Candy Kong.

So I put DKCTF on my wishlist as a real possibility depending what else was out at the time... but these videos just made it a definite buy.

The closet graphics whore in me wishes it looked less like the Wii version in HD, considering every previous Retro game was a visual showcase for its system, but since DKCR's 480p graphics didn't hold it back from being one of my top games of the 7th gen, I'm sure TF's graphical modesty won't stop me enjoying the hell out of it.

It's such an odd juxtaposition, those amazing fur effects with those comparatively low res environments. Retro's capable of way more than this, every prior game of theirs was among the best looking on its hardware, but this one won't even be close to one of Wii U's top lookers.

Ah well, at least it will probably play like a dream. :)
