Or would you rather turn it in for $75-$100 if it was a possibility?

Personally, I would never trade in the new experiences made possible by the GamePad: Fantastic asymmetrical Nintendo Land multiplayer, seamless inventory management, being able to check treasure maps while sailing in Wind Waker HD, and the ability to play while the TV is occupied, to name some of the more prominent benefits thus far. Playing Mario Kart and other multiplayer games without splitting the screen in two is another major benefit that I'm looking forward to utilizing.

How about you?

The best thing is not needing to turn on the TV (or change the channel) to navigate in the wii U.
Netflix. Bring my tv to my hands without pausing while other people see other things in tv, is awesome!

In the games I experienced, Gamepad was helpfull, but not necessary. For while.

I play Nintendo games and with their consoles BECAUSE of their unique and fun controllers. If I want to play games that feel the same year after year I'd play on playstation/Microsoft. I enjoy innovation and I love the Wii U gamepad. I hope that their next console is totally different controller too (and so on). The more unique things introduced the better. I'M DONE with typical controllers. SO boring it's not even funny.

It's not utilized enough, but I think it's worth it. Without it there would be no fun new experiences; it would just be an HD Wii. That feeling of freshness is a lot of what I pay for in a system, and innovation is really important to me. Down the line it's going to be a bigger advantage as well, which was worth paying for.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

Oh and I frequently browse the internet/watch Netflix on the gamepad in various parts of my house (including the bathroom). It's pretty awesome!

I have 2 WiiUs bought the second one for the gamepad alone (heard the gamepad alone will be like 150) payed 170€ so 20 for the console itself seems nice.

So nope.

I mean just think about it Mario Kart or some competitive game with 2gamepad support so noone can see what the other player does. And asymetrical gameplay is actually pretty awesome even with 1 gamepad.

Or connect both gamepads to a single console and then use pad 1 in the living room and pad 2 in the bedroom. (for me even carrying around the gamepad from room to room is annoying xD )

On the other hand I would totally sell the gamepads rumble motors for 10 bucks each or so because they are the worst EVER like mobile phones WAY to loud and annoying. The gamepad is the first controller where I deactivated rumble. Even the N64 one was better and that was the first one almost 20 years ago....

I love it and personally I don't get why the so called "hardcore" don't like it as it adds more to a game even if it's just a map and item select thingy but it is more than that.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

For me personally it's worth the money.
I like the gamepad.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

Well now that I have one I would certainly not turn it in again, because it's practical in games like Wind Waker and Lego City, as well as good in Rayman Legends.

Aaand that's about it. 3D World or other big games doesn't need it, and the places where it's used feels more irritating than cool. Hope they make good use of it in future games.

Yep.
