I bought the XBO for $500
I bought WiiU for $300
I bought 3DS for $250
I bought PSV for $180

And Ill likely buy PS4 at $400 unless i get a deal on it.

Wii U (will likely get it at any price though) - $250 or less
PS4 - $200 (if I don't have anything else to use the money on)
Xbone - $100 (if I don't have anything else to use the money on)
Vita - $150 - $200 or less (depending on the bundle. I do plan to get one.

so i purchased my ps3 for $323 and when i did i sort of freaked out because it was "soo expensive" for a video game system.

today i look at the $400 for a ps4 and think,..  "damn, that's so reasonable for what it does". 

i've got to admit,. MS did some great stuff with 360 and i'm grateful sony followed suit.  not soo interested in the cable TV integration.  i'm sure some will love it but i've had antenea TV for 5+ years now in the living room and nothing in my gaming rooom (antenea won't work there).  anyhoo, the point is...

$500 is reasonable for ps4 or xbone to me ...but only for the first system purchased.

~$200 for wiiU  (or the second of above) when all i'm using it is for the exclusives i can't get on my first system.

I already got a WiiU for 290 €.

With that said and taking into consideration that I'm not a handheld guy and that nowadays I play mostly on my PC, I'd say

PS4_ 200 or 250 € with the right games.

XboxOne_ 200 € with the right games.

But that's a best case scenario.

PS4: i dont need one...
xboxone: i dont need one...
got a PC for multiplatts, but i wont buy any AAAtitle soon. nothing new, most games feel like bad games form 10 years ago with better graphics.

wii u 199€ (got it for a higher price but that wasnt a good deal)
vita 99€ some great titles, but nothing shocking.
3ds i dont realy want one.
2ds 79€ i dont like the 3d and i dont like the DS/3DS design. the 2ds fits just great in big hands.

Have bought:

PS Vita - £120
3DS XL - £140

Will buy for:

PS4 - £350 (Will be getting one ASAP, primary next-gen console.)
Wii U - £150 (Can't buy two next-gen consoles so close together, may as well wait for a realistic price drop.)
Xbox One - £50 (Not trying to be harsh, but it's so similar to the PS4, so it'd be worth very little to me.)

Vita and WiiU master race?

Any major console, no more than £300, anything above this is too much in general. I wouldn't buy a handheld ever.

Some things to keep in mind. To the guys saying "I already bought the system for xxx", keep in mind that I'm more asking what the maximum price you'd be willing to pay for these systems is and not what the price you paid was.

Also to the people saying "I'd pay 0 for xxx", maybe try and overcome your inner bias and really think if the system you're talking about has absolutely zero worth to you.

Vita (new model): 200$
PS3: 220$

Run out and buy price:
PS4 400$
xb1 350$ with year of live.
wiiU 180 and a game.
3ds xl: 170 plus a game
vita: 199 plus a game
ps3: 200$ bundled with 2 games

I would then buy a second one of these systems for these prices:
ps4 350$
xb1 250$
WiiU 150$
3dsxl: 130$
vita: 130$
ps3: 99$
