• God of War: Ascension - 81% - Metacritic = 80.63 % / Gamerankings = 79.45%

You're wrong, the series only went downhill with God of War: Ascension and that was only because of multiplayer. Both portable games are often said to be among the best games on PSP and GoW III is often said the be one of the best games last gen and the best in the series with more fans than any other PS3 exclusive on Facebook by light-years.

More people want God of War IV than any other Sony exclusive looking at the sheer amount of views all these fake trailers have, with Cory Barlog back and God of War: Ascension teaching SSM that multiplayer isn't what the franchise needs I'm confident that the new GoW on PS4 will not only rank up there with the trilogy but be the best in the series yet.

And yes, God of War IV will probably make some people vomit.

And to be fair... Cod Series went down hill since Mw2 but it sold a shit ton more after Mw2 so...

Yeah, I hope that they will move onto to other types of mythology, that would be pretty cool with Norse or Egyptian mythology.

And it did it with virtually no bundling, no multiplayer, no guns (heh) and it's a linear game. Just imagine if God of War IV is the best in the series yet, has a holidays release, has improved multiplayer, a lot of bundling and a good marketing campaign? It would sell 8/9 million.

The series hasn't reached its full potential yet like GT or UC because Sony have never given it the same chance yet it's become huge regardless, I hope to see their new IP first (2015) and then God of War IV (2016).

As much as i like another God Of War game. I wanted them to make a new IP. Kratos story is pretty much done like Shepherd in Mass Effect.

When God of War 3 cam out PS3 wasn't exactly huge either and had more competion than any tripple A sony game and ended up outselling them all. Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Battlefield, Red Dead Redemption..and what pisses me off is VGC is still undertracking this game by at least 1.5 million considering it sold 5.2 million according to Sony's PR statement before 2012.

GOW needs some rest for now, hope we could see the fourth released in 2016 for ps4!
