Forums - Gaming - Doing some math (Brasilian gaming: console x PC)

We Brazilians have a hard time to play videogames. 2 weeks ago I found a deal on SM3DW that, from $199 (about 88 dollars), would be discounted to $179 (something around 77 dollars). Got it to show support, since I will only be able to really play it in January (and yes, mr. don't know who, I do put my money where my mouth is).

Then I opened my steam account, out of sheer curiosity, to see what I had got earlier in one random moment  of the year (I picked the beginning of April to end of May) for that. Here are the results:

Endless Space
GTA Complete Pack
Portal 2
Ridge Racer Unbounded
Dragon Age: Origins
Star Wars: KOTOR
Star Wars: KOTOR II
Magicka Collection (12/12)
BIT.TRIP Collection 2012
Terraria
Mass Effect 1 $ 2
Borderlands
Critical Mass
Borderlands 2 ROW
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Dead Space
Dead Space 2

Total: $197,85

I played almost none of them (neither have I played Mario), but wth?

In Brazil, PC gaming pays off (unless you wanna go ilegal, but that's a whole different story).

Yep same here, digital games seem to be cheaper. But sadly I don't have a gaming PC... Prices on videogames are getting ridiculous here... Super Mario 3D World cost me AR$ 700.

Yup, I've been to Buenos Aires last year and got scared by the prices on electronics. And that, coming from a Brazilian, means a lot. Papas fritas were nice and had good pricing, though. ;)

BTW, were exactly are you from?

If you are doing math remember Brazilian is not a number :)

I'm from Buenos Aires, Capital Federal!

Last year? Wow you would be more scared to see prices now... PS4 is like AR$ 6500... I also heard the PS4 over there in Brazil was ridiculously expensive. The more I see this prices the more I want to own a good PC. I would do Nintendo and PC only, I guess it's just a matter of saving cash but I'm starting college next year so I will be spending more money on books than gaming .

LOL neither are consoles X PCs (or, who knows...).

Is true. especially for nintendo games.
Even old games like zelda OoT, Mario Kart, 3D land, the cheapest proce ive seen was 150R$, while some ps3 games from the same date was for 20R$. The price of the big stores.

But i have a lot of luck with SM3DW. Got a copy for 140R$ in ricardo eletro.

That was a great deal! I got mine for 179 and thought it was good. I'll go check the site out.
