So, I made a thread like this awhile ago, but some complained that it was too premature. One year has now officially passed. So go on and pass your judgements on this thing! Go ahead and rip it to shreds my fellow vgcharterz! This is a thread to look back on how the wii u has done this past year.

Nintendo has done terrible with their one year headstart on the wii u. Barely any games came out that would move the system. Mario 3d world might move more units combined with the holiday season though. Other games barely made a riple and some flopped like no tomarrow. 3rd party game sales for most titles on the wii u were lol worthy. Still, the one year headstart did give them a lead in selling consoles. I think they are almost at 4mil ww or something like that. So they do have a lead on the competition for now atleast.

Nothing short of terrible is what you would describe of it's performance.

Terrible.

TL DR: Nothing

Is the wiiU doomed? Don't think so just yet but Nintendo really should have done something with their advantage

The WiiU tripped and fell off the starting block, breaking their ankle.

They have been in recovery and rehab for the last year. Their career is still in question, but there is a shred of hope.

It did slightly worse than the 360 in it's first year but a lot better than the PS Vita.

Slightly worse? The 360's first full calendar year was about 6.8 million, the Wii U will end up with less than half that, that's not slightly worse. Even the Vita did 3.5-3.6 million in the first full year on the market and even that is going to be above the Wii U, by perhaps a few hundred thousand units, so no, it didn't do a lot better.

IT's not as bad as everyone think it did. By the end of the year the WiiU should reach 5 million sold. By march 2014 there should be another price drop to bring the system down to $250 sales should pick slightly and WiiU will sales around 30 million lifetime unless we get another 7 years cycle then it could reach the 50 million.
