I think VGC will show ~2.9 million sold after the next week numbers
It is right now ~2.4 million.

Well Sony launched in new countries and the rumors says they shipped 500k units for these countries.
VGC sales for last weeks is 300k... so I expect it to be ~500k for this week WW because the new countries.
its the Fastest selling console there, but was it the biggest launch there?

I'm sure numbers for last gen consoles and now PS4 will be higher than most might think there. There are a lot of very poor people but that also means that there are many with enough money to reach the economical status they have. |
So true!
Xbox 360 made massive gains this gen in the South African market. Although out country still leans more to the Sony camp.
And here we are with the next gen launch and Sony has delivered decent supply for PS4. MS has yet to even give us a luanch date...theres not even rumours.
And that really sucks because MS has quite a competitive launch lineup for Xbox One.
@Dark_Feanor
You actually would be surprised by South Africa.
While the country is poor as a whole, there are millions of rich people there, and quite a large population of europeans and Americans.

Well its more than 2k thats for sure
i did some investigating today and across two stores from one retailer, they sold ~90 PS4's. This was all pre-orders though. I dont think they had stock for walk ins.
This particular retailer has about 53 stores through out our country.
The one branch i went to was quite big and popular one and the other less so...60+ PS4'S for the big one and 20+ for the smaller one. So theres quite a bit discrepancy between branches. These stores are also situated in the more aflluent areas. But... thats just two shops! Even if you do a very basic extrapolation you will see that a figure of 2k is very unrealistic considering that this is just one retailer. There are a few other retailers in our country that probably contrubute more to gaming sales.
Im not saying i know what the numbers are but i think its quite easy to say that 2k isnt very realistic at all for the luanch of the next playstation in our country.

it was also a very ignorant post.
I feel bad for the people responsible of distributing the stock WW. So little stock, so many countries and in the end most of the people will be disappointed anyway because it will not be enough. I thought they would get over their supply shortage by January but now it seems more like March. I mean is there a country where it's not sold out?
