The only way that would have happened is if it didn't have the DVD player. It was such a genius gimmick. Sell a console, cheaper than a DVD player, so now you just brought in the entire market of people who want a console and a DVD player. Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sega could not compete with that. Without it, then I still think the PS2 would have won but the Gamecube would have sold much better than it did. Sega was broke before Dreamcast released, it was dead on arrival no matter how well it sold.








The PS2 had arguably the best gaming library ever created ( only matched by the PSone, SNES and maybe the GBA).
