GT4 released a year and a half before the PS3 came out, I think GT6 will also have strong legs, but not 10 million strong. Especially with the game being available digitally from day 1 (and digitally for PS4)

One of my friends told me that if you owned a PS4, you could download this game and still play it. PS4 still plays PS3 games, just not via disk. I also heard the game came out a day earlier over PSN, but I don't have a PS4, and I'm too lazy to check on PS3.

One thing people need to consider with the UK sales is that these numbers represent the first full week for UK sales. More than enough people didn't pick up their pre order at launch, especially at my local GAME.

Your friend is misinformed. You can not play PS3 games on PS4. It will be possible in the future through Gaikai, but it's impossible now.

I see, but it is available on PSN right? Digital GT sales will cut away at physical copy sales, I don't think GT5 released digitally day 1.

It is, but I don't think its digital sales are very high because the price is ridiculously high compared to the retail price (Europe and other territories outside the US). Maybe 50k or so from digital week one WW. 

Is it really? :-/

Still, I don;t expect GT6 to do that well, but then again, I was wrong about GT5.

Killzone should also reach a million before the end of the year. Maybe even 1.5m if PS4 stock is high.

FIFA 14, BF4, ACIV will reach a million on PS4 this year as well.

 

On the X1 side we have CoD reaching a million this year. Some other games will come close, but won't reach it I think.

Surprise surprise. Oh well, I don't think many people would've bet against it. It'll be interesting to see the multiplat splits once enough games have come out to establish some sort of trend
