Forums - Sony - GT6 on PS3 instead of PS4

so to everyone who defended this horrible decision "because PS3 has a bigger user base".... what do you have to say now?

I thought it was a bad decision when I first heard about it, and obviously the poor sales confirm that it was a bad decision.

They shouldve delayed the game to 2014 and released on PS4, or atleast made GT6 a cross gen game. If games like ACIV and COD:Ghosts can be cross gen, then so could GT6.

Now we won't see GT7 on PS4 until 2016 at the earliest.

It was a very bad decision.

It would have been a massive system mover for the PS4, and the excitement of a next gen GT would have compelled people to buy it who passed on its current form.

Releasing on a system that's just been replaced, it was yesterday's news from day 1.

If the GT6 that's on the PS3 was on the PS4.
Embarrassing is the only word I could use to describe it. Absolutely embarrassing. It was the right move, it was the GT5 development cycle that fucked everything up, GT6 should have been released last year in place of LBP: Karting lol.

It would probably take a year to a year in a half to make GT6 an actual gen 8 game which will probably be around the time GT7 releases anyway.

Would have been a better idea to make DriveClub F2P and called it Club Gran Turismo essentially what Forza Horizon is to Forza.

Nonetheless GT6 will make a substantial profit whether it sales 3 million lifetime or 6 million lifetime. Those microtransactions are there for a reason and was a smart move on someone's part and they will be here for the long haul.

It took them forever to finally get that GT5 engine up and running. I guess Polyphony felt they had to squeeze one more game out of it before going to the new gen. Just updating the graphics for PS4 and pushing a game out isn't their style. When they release GT6 for PS4, it's going to be one of those games that takes full advantage of the Playstation 4's capabilities.

It was a stupid decision, delaying the game a year or two to release on PS4 would have been huge. Polyphany probably wanted to create at least one more PS3 game and Sony didn't want to stop them. Hopefully GT7 isn't too far off.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I'm extremely surprised as to why people are saying that it's a bad decision. Moving it to the PS4 would have being just as bad.

It was a bad decision, but what choice did they have? No way could they have it ready for PS4.

The problem isn't GT6, the problem was GT5 coming too late to the PS3. Not a big enough gap or big enough difference for GT6 on PS3 to be anywhere near as successful. PS3 launched in November 2006, GT5 came out in Nov 2010.... that is rank bad management of the situation.

The problem now may be that releasing GT6 this late could push back GT7 so that it comes to PS4 later than is desirable.

Finally we have someone here level headed enough to see the situation at hand. Sure GT6 on PS3 wasn't a great idea but it was pretty much the only option they could do.

I don't understand. Why would a previous gen port have been a system seller for the PS4?

Well Sony made a big deal of how easy it was to develop for ps4 with all these new dev tools and shit, WTF is the problem sony? Not that I care about the game in general, I am just pointing out something that kind of invalidates the shitty userbase excuse of bullshit.

I doubt it will sell very well.

wel GT7 could be coming to ps4 next year.
So I'm expecting a GT6 copy with better graphics and a 7 in the title.

ps. I still don't think it was a bad decision.

Also imagine Driveclub sales if it launched close to GT6.
