Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One: Hard Drive Full at 362GBs

I think ms and sony looked at the attachment rates and that's why they went with 500gb. 20 games is way more than the normal user is ever going to buy. And do you really need to have 20 games installed at all times ?

Maybe I am abnormal then but I exceed both. And with digital games I don't want to be downloading a 30GB+ game every time I want to play it. PS+ alone this gen gave me a reason to upgrade my HDD twice. lol

Wow. Someone needs to try this on the PS4.

well at least nothing is really going to be out for another month or so, time to release an external HD support patch.

There is no need to try this, because the PS4 actually shows you how much space it has left

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

PS4 has 408GB of free space when you first use it plus you can always put in a bigger HDD if that wasn't enough.

In the digital age that Sony and MS want, I'm surprised they released with a 500GB drive. I would think 1TB would be preferred. But it was probably a cost thing.

No doubt we'll see iterations of the PS4 and X1 in the coming years that have bigger hard drives, like we saw last generation.

So...

PS4: 408GB (I checked myself)
Xbone: 362GB

I think I won my bet by a large margin... I didn't expect that.

Edit - Fixed MB.

was this done without any additional apps?

it would be huge if it was  362 MB rather than GB

46 GB differece, sounds like alot but all it means is 1 additional AAA title in this gen.

BTW I read some bullshits in another thread when I was banned last week... some usual suspects saying things that make me doubt they really have a Xbone at home.

They said the Xbone have a file management and that you can delete the installed games from the HDD anytime.

FALSE.

You can't... even deleting the icon from the dashboard the Game is yet installed and using space in the HDD... you can't see how much space is using/free or even delete anything from it.

But there are a wizzard that popup when you try to install a game/app and there is no free space to install it... the wizard shows all the games/apps to you choose which one you want to remove... and so it removes it and install the new game/app.

This UI Wizard just shows when you need to install something and have no free space to it.
