Let's see. probably around $100 on GCN stuff, $200 on PC games,
$500 on systems, $100 on ps2 games, $200 on a DS and its games, so around $1100 on games in 2007. That's way too much for me. I better keep it under $500 this year.

probably 50 a month

I feel like such a no life spending 3000 dollars on games. Well since I have all the consoles I will save about 2000 this year if I don't buy hundreds of games.

so with such a huge budget on games, does a sticker price like 500 dollars for a PS3 scare you away? Or is it not such a big deal when you're spending like 3000 bucks on games anyways?

No budget to speak of, just buy what I can when I can really, seems to work fine for me.

A little that is still alot of money though and this year I plan on not spending over 1000. I'm still a teen and don't really have to worry about spending money on other things maybe that is why its easier to spend all that money.

i wonder what the "casual" gamer spends on games a year. 50 - 100 a year? Any guesses?

I think this this me a little insight on each companies strategy. For Nintendo, if they break even right away, then any game that is sold is a profit for them. For the casual-est of casuals who maybe buys one game a year, Nintendo still makes a profit (though they have to rely on a LOT of casuals to make good money).

For the hardcore Sony and MS are banking on people who have huge budgets (i.e. 2000 a year) to buy their games in order to make up for their losses.

Too many Casuals on the PS3 might just kill sony -- if sony lost almost 200 on each system and a casual just buys one game a year.

Any thoughts?

I spent around umm leme see..

£1300 for my gaming pc
£350 for my PS3 including 1 Blue ray and 1 game
£80 for psp (ebay)
£80 6 PSP games
£400 on pc games :) (maybe more which i think it is)
£200 HD-TV for PS3

2007 was expensive:
PS3,Wii & 32 not used games
So 2500 € should be right.
Plus 1700 € for my Full HD Panasonic Plasma.
