i wonder what the "casual" gamer spends on games a year. 50 - 100 a year? Any guesses?
I think this this me a little insight on each companies strategy. For Nintendo, if they break even right away, then any game that is sold is a profit for them. For the casual-est of casuals who maybe buys one game a year, Nintendo still makes a profit (though they have to rely on a LOT of casuals to make good money).
For the hardcore Sony and MS are banking on people who have huge budgets (i.e. 2000 a year) to buy their games in order to make up for their losses.
Too many Casuals on the PS3 might just kill sony -- if sony lost almost 200 on each system and a casual just buys one game a year.
Any thoughts?
