Forums - Nintendo - Question for Super Mario 3D World owners....

Is it possible to play this game with just the Wiimote sideways?  I have 4 Wiimotes but I don't have enough nunchucks for 4 players or pro controllers and don't plan on buying anymore.  And if it's possible, how bad are the controls with just using the D-pad? (I've heard how Nintendo added the nunchuck support due to the poor controls with the D-pad).

I'm a couch coop guy and I really want to play this game with friends but I'm not going to cough up more money on controllers just for one game.

Thanks.

It supports everything pretty much. Wiimote only included.

No idea on how it feels, I've exclusively only used the Gamepad and Pro controller.

Yes and it doesn't feel good imo... But thats just me, I would rather play with the pro controller or the wiiU gamepad

one of you can play with the gamepad, how many nunchucks do you have?

I think you can also use classic controllers for the wii

Yes, it works with wiimotes sideways. My friend was playing with wiimote during co-op and didn't seem to have a problem. Sure, analog sticks would feel somewhat better in 3d movement.
