Forums - Gaming - Should I sell my vita for a 3ds XL?

Cheebee said:
If you're going to wait until the XL drops to $150, you may be waiting a long, long time. It's the most successful dedicated gaming system on the market, they're not going to drop the price anytime soon, I'd think.

It's a christmas sale for Walmart.

You should. But I'd recommend getting the normal 3DS, I personally think XL's increased screen size isn't worth pixels looking twice as big. Also, if you do get a 3DS, pick up Ace Combat, awesome game.

If I had to choose between the two, I would keep my 3DS XL. Obviously it depends on what kind of games you like.

We ALL wanted it, now we ALL are finally going to get SHENMUE III !!! Let us REJOICE IN THE STREETS!!!

but can he take them on the go?
thats the point of a PORTABLE system

If you like good games then yes.
that's what I did. My vita was the biggest waste of $ ever.

Yes, the 3DS & 3DS XL with the 3D ON gives a much more better looking screen and image quality in everyway compare to a 55 inch 4K HD LED TV, so a million times yes; sell your PS Vita for the 3DS XL.

The 3D effect is way more better then the Cinema, you get unimaginable amounts of clearity & anti-aliasing & vividness & stunningness, with the 3D ON 24/7.

With the 3D Off, it looks worser then the Vita screen, but with the 3D ON it looks way way way more better then the Vita screen.

You get games on the 3DS XL that surpass the Home Console experience, for example; Kid Icarus: Uprising.

In fact the 3DS is the very first Handheld to be more better then Home Consoles.

I can suggest so many games worth every different gamers time and then some:

Kid Icarus: Uprising

Star Fox 64 3D (blows away the crappy original for playability)

Dillon's Rolling Western

Rhythm Theif and the Emperor's Treasure

Harmo Knight

Bravely Default

King of Pirates (its a trilogy because they couldn't fit all of the stories and plots into 1 game)

Rodea the Sky Soldier

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

Mario Kart 7

Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed (do a Firmware Update before playing this one)

Resident Evil: Revelations (the best single player campaign you will ever experience, FYI got to options and change depth to Very Strong, and change Aim to Gyro to use true panarama view for aiming)

Project X Zone

Kingdom Hearts 3D

Fire Emblem Awakening

Ketzel's Corridors

Mutant Mudds

Kersploosh!

Golden Sun 3DS

Persona Q

Zone of the Enders 3

Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega 3D Classics)

Pokemon 7th Gen

Zelda A Link Between Worlds

Professor Layton VS. Ace Attorney

Castlevania Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate (just make it thru the first weak 1/3 of the game and the last 2/3 of the game is pure epic, especially the last 1/3 of the game)

Cave Story 3D (Retail only)

Code of Princess 2

Dragonball Heroes: Ultimate Mission

Dragon Quest Terry's Wonderland 3D

Beyond the Labyrinth

E.X. Troopers

Liberation Maiden

Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins (its a Prequel)

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Ninja Gaiden (working title)

Assassin's Creed (working title, but its not Lost Legacy, its a different one)

Mario Kart Double Dash!! (new installment)

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Shinobi 3DS (retail only)

Sonic Generations (3DS exclusive version)

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

Spy Hunter (you can get this for less then $10 on amazon.com for new copy)

Tales of the Abyss 3D

Time Travelers

Cloudberry Kingdom

Pushmo

Gunman Clive (cell-shaded graphics awesomeness)

Kokuga

Mighty No. 9

Nano Assault EX

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriff

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

SpeedX 3D

VectorRacing

Jett Rocket 2

And there are free Demos for games, and Nintendo said they are localizing a lot of Japanese exclusive games to the Nintendo 3DS worldwide.

Plus Warner Bros. & Disney & Dreamworks have sign a contract with Nintendo to make all of their 3D Movies to be release on the Nintendo 3DS, to watch in glasses-free 60 fps 3D (The Hobbit Trilogy is 48 fps).

FYI the 3DS YouTube App is just a Web Browser that plays videos, so you can watch porn on any site on the the internet on the Nintendo 3DS, LOL but true.

And Netflix and Hulu Plus are bringing 3D streaming to the Nintendo 3DS.

I hope I've helped.

And here's a list of even more 3D Movies you can look forward to see on the 3DS in the near enough future:

I have a Vita, and both a launch 3DS and a 3DS XL I bought earlier this year, because the build quality and trigger buttons on the original are horrible.

If you're planning on buying a 3DS, DON'T buy the original 3DS like some people here wants to tell you. Going from Vita to a normal 3DS would feel like a huuuuuge downstep, the 3DS screen is NOTHING compared to the Vita Screen. Even when the 3DS XL screen has bigger pixels, it looks much, much better, and you don't need to hold the system so close that you miss the 3D effect.

And yes, the 3D effect is identical on 3DS and 3DS XL. The XL only is bigger, the exact same "effects".

I do like my Vita though, and if you could keep your Vita and still buy a 3DS XL, I would do that. But if you're going to only have one, go for the games. If I had to choose, I would had taken the 3DS XL because I love Mario Kart and Zelda, and the upcoming Smash Bros.

My Vita has of course not seen as much play time compared to my 3DS's lifetime, but I love playing wipEout 2048, that's actually been my most played game the last week. Bought it when SCE Studio Liverpool was closed to see their final game, and finally I have learned the controls so I can play it without problems.

Still it doesn't make up for the whole 3DS library, but think at least twice before buying ANY console. That's my advice ;) If you do buy a 3DS, I, like many others here, recommend Zelda A Link Between Worlds. The most fun game I played this year. The story has finally been a little mixed up here too.

Yep.

Do it as soon as possible. I wouldn't pass up on the 3DS's library for what the vita is offering in the future.

Nope I got rid of my  3ds to make more room for vita

If you don't want to play vita, then yes.

If you do want to play vita, then keep not. Why do you need our opinions? Only you know what you like to play ;)
