Do you find potential in it?

Actually universal health care isn't exclusive here in Canada, its also present in many European countries and some others like Japan, but all those countries do have at least a little private health care mixed with their public health care and from what I know Canada is the only country with only public health care.

Idk about those other countries but there seems to be this idea that we pay out the ass in taxes to fund our health care, but that's not really true, American's pay 2.5x more per capita for their health care.

Actually we don't get free prescriptions and a lot of European countries do, one way our health care is falling behind.  Basically every form of care is free except eye care and dental care, so yes doctor visits and any tests or procedures are free.

Everything is funded through taxes, but the thing with our system is its all public so its not for profit, in America when you pay for health insurance not all the money your paying is going towards your care, a large amount is taken away to make a profit for your insurance company and some money is used towards advertising.  Also here in Canada every bill goes straight to the government so our administration costs are really low, in America they have to bill different insurance companies and everyone has different coverage so its a whole process that takes a lot of time and money.

eye care is covered if your younger than 18, or older than 65.  Also if it is a medical necessity. So glocoma and all that is covered.   Its just the routine exams and contacts/glasses that are not covered.

Prescriptions can be paid if you make below a certain amount, Ussually after you pay a certain amount for that year(like after the first 300-400 they will start to pay). and if you are on welfare/disability, all of it is paid.

All tests/procedures are free.  Every blood test, CT scan, MRI, Camera going somewhere unpleasant.

but Ambulance rides to the hospital are like 70 bucks. and The pay parking is stupidly expensive.  Some walk-in clinics also charge you for a "sick note"

That's actually technically illegal to do lol, but they get away with it.

Ive been fighting for Legalization for many years, Even helped organize some campaigns in a few provincial and federal elections for the local Marijuana party.

yea ive heard that, most clinics are garbage anyways,  They get paid by the patient so they wanna get you in and out as fast as they can so they can see the limit and go home lol  I just go to my family doctor, hes highly rated and doesnt accept new patients lol  Hell also prescribe me things no clinic EVER would. (like my MJ prescription)

Ya cause of the old fee-for-service system, they try to get as many patients in as they can to make as much money as possible.  I actually remember learning only around 1/4 of new doctors coming out of medical school prefer the fee-for-service model, I never really understood that cause if I'm a doctor I'd want the model where I could make the most money.  The other two models are salary, which needs no explanation and capitation, which is basically you get paid a certain amount for the number of patients you have and it caps off at a certain number so you can't just get more and more patients.  Fee-for-service offers the worst health care, but it ensures the most people recieve care, it has its advantages and disadvantages.
