It's neither a remake or a remaster, it's the exact same game, no changes. (even magic defense is still completely worthless in the original PC release of the game.)

I'll take your word for it that FF7 & MGS2 were the exact same game because I've never played them myself, will remove both.

Also just want everyone to know this thread isn't saying only 90%+ are worthwhile, only used that criteria for the lists because counting everything from 80%+ would take too long.

The PS2 version of MGS2 did actually have a skating game part in it from Evolution skateboarding (I think) Which was omitted from the Xbox release of the game, but other than that they're the same other than performance (weirdly the PS2 is a lot better for playing mgs2 since the game was built around the hardware)

 

FFVII on the PC though gameplay wise is identical, bugs and all.

 

Edit - Have to add, pretty awesome to keep a thread like this going after 4 years even with the smallish amount of interest it got, would you consider adding in the portables from Sony? The PSP had some amazing exclusive games on it as did the Vita in the first years of its all too short life.

I did consider adding the portables but it'd have to be 80%+ lists because the Vita had no 90%+ exclusives and the PSP only had one in God of War: Chains of Olympus, unless Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars also counts because although the DS version was completely different I know they released that a few months later on IOS but not sure if there's any differences.

I think it's probably best to keep home & portable consoles separate, if Sony ever make a successor to the Vita I'd definitely make a new thread for portables scoring 80%+ because like you say both had some great exclusives.

Amazing how far the industry has come. GT on PS1 with like 15 reviews, PS4 games clocking in at over 100.

First I've seen this thread. Seems like PS1 and PS2 should get most of the votes simply because they had so many exclusives. A game doesn't have to be 90%+ for it to be fun and enjoyable. PS3 and PS4 pale in comparison to the sheer quantity of exclusives that the first two Playstations had.

For me games have been improving over time, so the best exclusives are on PS4 and probably in 2 years will be in PS5.

In terms of exclusives, I'd probably rank them like PS2 > PS1 > PS4 > PS3

Interesting list and cool thread :) PS4 and PS2 are the best Games-Consoles of all time - with the best/most Exclusives :)
