So everyone who doesn't think this thread is completely ridiculous...How would you react if it said "Jason Rubin won’t buy a Sony, Micorsoft, Ouya, Console or phone or tablet or car for his Daughter, Despite Being rich" ? Who cares? This is a ridiculous baiting thread. This ties into 100% exactly what I posted in the fanboy thread about Nintendo people.  Oh, and for the record, I like Nintendo's games.

How could anyone have a problem with "how Nintendo does business" ?

Microsoft? 100% agreed (Forza 5, the light on content 60$ game with 50$ Season pass, altered ingame economy AND Microtransactions on top)

but Nintendo ? please...

Guys like these will be eating crow by 2015. Other then GTA V, which was a great game, most of the so called mature games to come out in the last few years have been flops. It's the single greatest reason why the Vita is a flop. PSP sold 80 million consoles, and even though it didnt beat 3DS, thats about as many PS3's were sold so it actually did pretty well. If you look at the top selling games it includes Daxter (4.1 mil), Monster Hunter (13 mil total), Ratchet and Clank (3.67 mil.). Go down the list of the top 50 and about 35 are either kids games or kid friendly (FIFA,Final Fantasy,Star Wars). Now go look at the Vita games and the only million seller is Uncharted and almost everything except for sports games is aimed towards adults only. I like my Fallout,God of War,Borderlands, and Halo too, but Sony and Microsoft are making the same mistake that Nintendo did with the Gamecube and Sega did with the Saturn...catering to your hardcore fans has never worked, and it never will.

Just like how the new mobile dragon age has $99 "micro" transactions.   The industry at this rate is becoming a joke, and hopefully more people realize that Nintendo is the only company that is not looking to screw people out of their money.  $2 Pikmin DLC and $20 for Super Mario U was the best deal I have on DLC since RDR Undead Nightmare.

But his reasoning boils down to: "I´ll buy those two consoles that will share 90% of their respective librarys that are far more expensive than this other console....despite the other console having great exclusives because of reasons"

Rubin can buy whatever he wants for himself and his family, his income notwithstanding. This is a non-story.

That being said, his comments about Nintendo's irrelevance as a hardware manufacturer are inaccurate and short-sighted. I'm thankful to Rubin for his games, The Precursor Legacy in particular, but he needs to weigh his words more carefully and contemplate the future of an industry without Nintendo hardware more thoroughly.

I always sound like a broken record but Iwata is one (if not the single) best CEOs in the entire game industry, he has made a LOT, a LOT of mistakes with the 3DS and WiiU.

But I can´t think of a second CEO who always stresses his pro consumer stance (shipping a complete game, DLC having to be completely optional etc), save working conditions (not cutting jobs to boost short term profitabilty) and his overall long sightedness (not devaluating IPs through cheap iOS cash ins etc.)

He is one of the best.
